These are the sonic equivalent of science-fiction stories. Each aurelic (aural relic, or musical treasure) explores a different core idea. Literary inspiration was mainly provided by Philip K. Dick and Ted Chiang. Throughout the trek, thanks to my ♥ wife Ravenelle for being her, being here - and all those treasures from the pirate ship.

Insightful and entertaining as always! Seems like an inventive custom controller by Torley is in order!

Ishkur is a hero of mine and his early research informed a lot of my work - I'm hopeful he'll finish V3 someday, it'd be like a slumbering titan glaring at brostep and all the contemporary "EDM" styles! (What a mouthful.) I was delighted to exchange correspondence with him years ago, and I think I once bumped into him (literally) at a Richie Hawtin event. Don't think he knew it was me. ;)

I've only been to Las Vegas once, but it was a delightfully bizarre experience. It's like you've stepped into a whole other universe. The old strip is like a great big haunted mansion covered in blinking lights. The interiors of a lot of the old casinos are a bit spooky and claustrophobic albeit luxurious. You see a lot of the old dinosaurs hanging around the same places, people who've been utterly consumed by the casino experience...true gambling addicts. Bizarre. Wonderfully strange.

I wish I knew which two colours fit me the most... You're the lovely watermelon guy.. All I've got is lime green... shit.. Great to see a Torley video again. I wouldn't mind seeing some improv videos by the way. Like.. just a jamming session would be cool.

Torley! I really love tele-three step! It is the one the strikes me the most as a new 'genre'. By that I mean it has a 'sound' that is identifiable but by no means restrictive. Plus, it is a really fun sound. The song, Marimbar None, is enjoyable to listen too :D

Hi Torley...haven't been following your videos for very long, but took an immediate liking to your energetic vibe and well...some jackass spread a rumor that you had passed(which was unspeakably vulgar,& seemed highly questionable)...but since you were "off the grid" for a while,I was beginning to wonder if it was true(& thought perhaps someone was blogging on your FB page in your place). That being said,I'm very pleased to see you back making videos again-righteous!

Thanks for putting this up man, what a great video! I've always loved the idea of either mixing genre's or creating entirely new ones! How do you like your OMG-1? Do you use it often? You said you wish there was more that a midi controller could do, have you ever thought about a VA synth? Moog voyager? Virus TI? I know these aren't exactly what you meant, but there's a ton of stuff you could do with them. I'm looking at the voyager myself, I might go try one soon. Take care Torley! =)

Not yet, but as I posted on my Facebook: "I may make them available as a downloadable package in the future on Bandcamp (since SoundCloud isn't optimized for that)... I know this seems counter-intuitive; I have some bigger ideas in mind here."

By the way...this video reminds me of a website that meticulously outlined the vast genres & subgenres of music & well...as interesting as it was,I felt that the phalanx of labels really made the whole categorization of music a bit convoluted. I can't remember the website..wait a sec..ah yes..I found it...Ishkur's Guide To Electronic Music

My fave member of Genesis may be Peter Gabriel, yet a surprising # of my tracks have an homage to the "In the Air Tonight" tom fill. I'm not kidding. E.g., "050 - Glamhammer" @ 00:59 ;)

Speaking of controllers, my only controller has broken keys and I'm struggling to find an affordable replacement without unnecessary features. I just want a full velocity response, MIDI in/out, and non cheap-plasticy and non-noisy keys. I only have a stretch budget of $700-800 because of college expenses, but I can't seem to find anything adequate. I'd be willing to have something refurbished if it were in perfect working condition. Would anyone help?
