Open and honest explanation about my situation: This is a little bit of an all-or-nothing situation. I'm nearing the end of my studies, and that is the point where I either have to go get a job, or make KZbin my living. I always knew this was coming (I mentioned it in my 200k thank you video and many times on stream), but this point has always been the "Either my channel is big enough and I can jump on it to support myself; or, I have to go get another job... and then I won't have any more time to make videos, and this will be the end of my journey". *Why?* In Denmark where I live, you can get support money for the duration of your studies (from the government/welfare). The amount you get isn't like a lot or anything, but it is designed to let you support yourself with a part-time job on the side, which is basically what KZbin has been for me. But now that I'm nearing the end of my studies, this will soon no longer be available to me. From here on out, I'm on my own - I need to earn my own living, no longer just a part-time one, and it becomes an all-or-nothing with KZbin's income and whether I can survive, or... well, _having to get a normal job._ I would love to keep doing KZbin as my full-time job if I can. But it is unfortunately *just out of reach for me.* And on top of that, with how fluctuating and unstable KZbin ad revenue is in its nature (both demonetization, but also just losing viewers), it can be scary to live this close to the line. I like being real and just being open and honest with you guys. I don't think there's anything scary about sharing the honest truth of my situation. So a few months ago, I told you guys this and asked what you guys thought I should do. To my surprise, an OVERWHELMING amount of you supported the idea of creating a Patreon if it meant me being able to chase my dream. I think the biggest issue Zet faces is the standard he set for his videos. His channel is about high quality low quantity videos, which is why he usually does 2-3 videos per chapter, a video for every new right and then 1 in between. All of his videos have highly-edited subtitles + a bunch of editing outside said subtitles, so they're naturally overwhelming, especially in the toxic environment we call KZbin where the money-making videos are the ones that follow the algorithm to a fault. It also doesn't help that, in this community, the videos that get clicks involve the words "swf, toxic, genrush" and stuff like that, which Zet deliberately avoids because he doesn't want his content to be like that. In the end, I hope his story gets a good ending, and as his audience, we should support him no matter how things turn out, whether it'd be to our benefit (having YT as a full-time job) or to his benefit (pursuing his career as a software- engineer).

I hope so too. But luckily, KZbin is a type of career that grows (usually) over time, and depending on how big the Patreon gets, if I start earning _above_ the amount I'd need, well it could maybe afford me to have some more spare time, branch out a bit, or experiment a little with videos that would otherwise earn me less. That's my long-term dream :) I'd really like to try and make some vlog type comedic one-off videos that I'll just post to a second channel here or there xD

Full-time KZbin isn't the same as what it used to be, that's for sure. I'm in a similar situation to you Zet. I'm midway through my own studies, and I'm already being forced to plan out my own future. I'm no big content creator, and just do what I do as a hobby with my friends (I'm not even an affiliate on Twitch yet haha), but I can't see myself living without that little splice of enjoyment in my life, so I can see your dilemma. Can you imagine just having to leave behind the games you love and the joy you get from playing them with your friends? I could never! Also, don't worry about feeling like you're selling out or anything. The way I and most of your viewers see it, all you're doing is planning for your future and experimenting so you have a better plan going forward after you finish your studies. Not only is this a very smart idea, it's very admirable. You're planning several steps ahead in life, which many people don't do at all. I seriously wish I could support you, but I'm actually having a few issues with my current part-time job that I won't get into for privacy reasons, but once I get it all sorted out, I'd be happy to join your Patreon. I've been subscribed to your KZbin channel and I think following/intermittently subscribed to your Twitch for quite a few years now, and I just want to let you know that I am ecstatic for this little community's response to your poll and I want to add my voice that I think opening up a Patreon is an exceptionally good idea. Worth mentioning, on the backstory: pretty sure "Singularity" is a reference to the "Technological Singularity" - the theorised point where biology and machinery become so close and intertwined with each other (i.e. mechanical implants, organic machinery, etc.) that the line between the two can no longer be seen; essentially creating a new species that's both man and machine, yet neither of the two at the same time.
