@@TrafficCamWatch Well I understand what you’re saying, it SHOULD’NT take meteorologists panicking on live TV to get people to understand the gravity of the situation. I do agree maybe they could’ve been more aggressive with their pleas but ultimately if they can’t get the point across without yelling at viewers, then that’s on THE VIEWERS!! Especially when they were given over an hour of “lead time” before the tornado hit!! I think they did a FANTASTIC JOB of relaying but not terrifying people. I dunno, my guy. Hearing experienced meteorologists, when you live in the area and are always used to dopplar indicated tornadoes, or weak ef1s, hearing them say "guys, this is a high end likely EF4 or Ef5" is gonna get people to move. We hear tornadoes so much around here. Noah and Trent saying that it was not an ef1, ef2, but EF4 or higher really got a lot of us to pay attention
@annedavis3340 Жыл бұрын
@@billbombshiggy9254 I dunno, my pal. You should ALSO be hearing experienced meteorologists telling you a "weak ef1" can kill you with a direct hit if you're in the wrong spot. If you're carrying on as normal in a living room cause "weak" tornadoes are NBD on a sofa and a 2x4 comes through your window, you're just as dead as you'd be if your house got polished off the foundation and the foundation got polished off the scoured ground. That's why they tell you the things about where to be, *even if* it's not gonna be an ef5. Feel lucky? Your house can be where one of the worst ones FORMS, long before one of the 4m radar scans can tell you it's there. They can *only* confirm with debris signature once the tornado is already crunching things. Radar tornado coverage is past tense just as much as it is future tense. If you need someone to hold your hand and beg you extra pretty please with a cherry on top to care this time, there's a problem. You may well be fatigued from being warned a lot. It's still your job to get over that, and yourself, and take them seriously the first time they mention your area, not demanding they start hopping around painted blue with 5 pairs of suspenders on before you can bring yourself to listen to the words they're saying. Either way the words SHOULD be the same, 5 pairs of suspenders or not: be weather aware, have a plan, move to shelter, respect the damn polygon. And for the record, I've lived my whole life in tornado alley. None of us are too good or cool or slick or lucky or "used to it" to be right about ignoring the warnings if someone didn't look scared enough on TV. Just cause you've never died in a car crash before doesn't mean you're guaranteed never to be hit by a car. Prior luck has nothing to do with future outcomes whatsoever.

I live in tornado Alley and I don't know who you talk to but most people don't rate tornadoes they just know one thing when the warnings come for the most part they know how to get to cover. @@rolandmiller5456 I mean I agree, I always thought it was interesting how the few guys I knew that lived in Tornado Alley because we were all stationed together at various points throughout my military career but they’d each basically say they knew which ones they took seriously and which ones weren’t worth worrying about. One guy I was in Kuwait with and he near Bridge Creek on May 3rd, 1999 which I thought was fascinating because even though I’m born and raised in Boston I’ve always found tornadoes extremely fascinating. Most of the clowns I knew back then were younger guys so I don’t think they really had the brains to be afraid at that point. @@kenperk9854 Well there are a couple different factors at play here. One of the biggest reasons it got so much nationwide attention was because of the time of year it happened. The outbreak that had such a profound impact on Alabama happened in late April which is right around the start of tornado season in Tornado Alley. The one in this video happened in DECEMBER which is VERY RARE! The other factor at play was that the communist aka state run media WAS DESPERATELY SEEKING ANYTHING to run with in order to take the heat off the illegitimate dictator and his communist regime!! So naturally when this occurred they used an old “democrat”/leftist slogan, which is: “NEVER Let a tragedy/crisis go to waste!!” You can be sure they did just that! They used that tragedy and the suffering of those affected by the tornado outbreak right before Christmas to take the heat off of Beijing biden and “Heels Up” Harris’s FAILURES during their first year of occupying the White House!!! 100 mph gust on outside of storm before hit Mayfield but your gonna tell me it only hit 190mph and didn't exceed a ef4 rating
@billbombshiggy9254 Жыл бұрын
Only 190mph? That's just 10mph away from ef5. You are kind of splitting hairs.
@patricklaurojr7427 Жыл бұрын
@@billbombshiggy9254 I'm saying tho not like oh only likes it not strong but all time in last 10 yrs it's always just under 200 mph like they purposely don't want give it a ef5 rating

It was max intensity right around dawson springs and Bremen area but nobody mentions that because they're not Mayfield. Peak winds right outside of Bremen were recorded to hit 215-220 at times. An absolute demon of a tornado. Technically it was fluctuating between ef4 and ef5 on top of Bremen. But the scale they use now is fuckin ridiculous and most of the buildings destroyed out there are trailers, double wide trailers, barns, and small old poorly built houses dotted around a rural area, so it got an ef4. This tornado was 100% an ef5 through 70% of its lifespan in my mind. But like you said, they are really fuckin weird about ef5 tornado ratings now. It's like they're scared to rate them that high. Like they are trying to possibly portray they're not becoming more frequent??
@patricklaurojr7427 Жыл бұрын
@@damondriver6363 my theory is so insurance companies pay out according to rating as ef5 100% and so on its prob a massive scam I wouldn't even be shocked with government we have and Biden lmao

2:41:51 - not to criticize, but I would have been happier knowing that I was minutes from being hit by the Tornado on the ground than wondering about possibles 80 miles south.

If there is stuff around that area that may spin up they have an obligation to report it to people.

At that time the tornado was in an unpopulated state park. So if there was a time to talk about other tornado warnings, that would be it.

I'm from Mayfield and this broadcast saved many lives. People are still talking about the awesome job Noah and Trent did that night. I was at work in Union City Tennessee so I didn't know the magnitude of the devastation till after 11:30 pm that night.

Ken Perk 1 second ago Its sad to see all the nation-wide coverage of the tornado outbreak a few weeks ago. in 20 11, 3 times as many people were killed but the mudstream media was too busy with the royal wedding to cover it. Disgraceful but not surprising.
