The tornado that hit Washington, Illinois is particularly shocking to me because of the time of year it occurred. You really don't expect a tornado to strike in late November and as a result the residents of Washington had gone from being excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas to feeling helpless and heartbroken. To add to their misery it snowed a week after the tornado; which hindered cleanup efforts. By an absolute miracle none of the churches in Washington were hit; which was fortunate because many residents of Washington were attending church services that particular Sunday. One of those churchgoers was the city's mayor Gary Manier.

You did a great job on this bulletin as it captured the severity of the tornado and of how the text of the Tornado Emergency issued was still sobering enough to convince the residents in the path of the tornado to get their asses to safety or die.

@@EANetwork Oh. Well I still think you did a great job on this video. There are so many stories from the May 20, 2013 tornado in Moore, Oklahoma that stand out in my mind. One story is that of a man named Sam Peña. Sam displayed nearly superhuman abilities to keep his son Benji as well as several of Benji's friends and classmates safe by using all of his physical strength to hold up a cinder block wall as they took shelter from the storm in a boys bathroom of Briarwood Elementary School. Despite what people believe; Sam is refreshingly humble and says that he doesn't consider himself a hero, saying that he was just doing what any parent in his position would have done. In my opinion Sam should have been awarded a Medal of Valor by the Mayor of Moore, Oklahoma Glenn Lewis for having risked his life to save the lives of not only his son but also several of his son's friends and classmates.

@@EANetwork It would be interesting if you could consider doing a mock Emergency Alert System for the tornado that tore through Joplin, Missouri on May 22, 2011. If the National Weather Service office in Springfield had issued a Tornado Emergency for the city of Joplin on top of the Tornado Warning for Jasper County, Missouri it would have saved many lives.
