Tornado Green or Blue?

Apple green for me Matt but the BR blue is not to far off, I actually bought myself a Bachmann Tornado a coupe,of months ago to replace my hornby BR green one which has unfortunately developed a motor fault and as spare motors for those can be quite difficult to get I bought a bachmann one, hav to say up bachmanns version is much better than hornbys in terms of detail, great running session with the pair, really liked the lit lamps on the green one as it was running.

My Hornby LNER green example is one of the best runners I own, and can haul pretty much anything I throw at it. It looks superb. But my vote would narrowly goes to the blue livered version, even though the paint finish on the green version of the two you ran looks better. Right now, A2 Blue Peter is the best-looking steam loco in the country.

I think it depends on the loco. For Tornado it has to be LNER Apple Green but then the King Class in BR Blue looks so right.

My theory on this is that, concerning the livery worn by Tornado, her owner couldn't decide which colour suited her best. She went from being grey to Apple Green and BR Blue, and then switched colours yet again to Brunswick Green. My Hornby model of Tornado is in LNER Apple Green livery, the only laughable snag is she's actually paired with Flying Scotsman's tender and not her own. While Tornado does look splendid in BR Blue, LNER Apple Green suits her equally well. My favourite colour for Tornado? Hard to choose because I'm torn between BR Blue and LNER Apple Green. She can't wear both colours at once. However, although my favourite colour for a Great Western engine in general is Brunswick Green, my favourite colour for King Edward 2nd is the one she's wearing now: BR Blue.

BR Blue every time 😀. It's the only nationalisation livery I actually like, though that's mostly down to the fact that blue is my favourite colour 😆. Great video, Matt 👍.

Blue, without a shadow of a doubt. Huge fan of Sir Nigel Gresley, King Edward II and the recently overhauled Blue Peter, all of which are in BR Blue. Such a fan of the colour and I, that the feature wall in my room is a semi gloss BR Blue.

I don't mind either liveries. But if you are running Tornado with LNER teak coaches it does need to be apple green.

We have tornado in br green. Personally I think a darker green suits the loco .

Shame that the two couldn't run together passing each other I should say for me I would say the apple green as both Locomotives perform very well indeed.

I absolutely have to go with either the BR Blue or Brunswick Dark Green, as for the BR!!!! NOT LNER (sorry) lined apple green, I've seen it so many times that I prefer the liveries it carries less as it makes them more unique The LNER apple green would only have 3 numbers on the side whilst the BR like seen on the model has 5 numbers. The more you know

Bit like asking Celtic or Rangers. I’d say blue, despite being a Hibs supporter. It’s a loco not a football team.
