I lived in Austin for 50 years, and had the pleasure of seeing all of these great musicians perform with their own bands individually, and also together as the Texas Tornados. I probably saw Flaco and Freddie the most, but loved them all.

Me and Sir Doug were long time buddies from way back in his days at the Lone Star Cafe in NYC. I reminded him about his musical roots and I like to think he appreciated that.

You obviously don't like Freddy Fender and I for sure don't like your comment. It's all of the parts that make the band. Each musician brought their individual talents into the band . Each member also being successful in bands prior to the Texas Tornados forming .. Freddy (RIP) and Doug (RIP), Augie and Flaco are all great musicians! In addition to their individual achievements, they will be credited, remembered and always be known as members of the great Band ,The Texas Tornados. That's my reply to you , (Fundio) !

At 4:49 as Letterman was leading into a commercial, the band was playing the intro to Treat Her Right. Roy Head and the Traits made this song famous. Also, some of Salm’s dance moves are from Roy Head.

remember when dave would say im just a jerk . well his cracks in the begining about Pauls cowboy hat ,with the Legendary, individually and together , Texas Tornadoes standing on the band stand , thats what he was being . musically ignorant .

I used to love David Letterman until I seen this... you know there's comedy and then there's just outright fake sarcasm which is really hides an identity crisis😟 I guess It Takes KZbin the group's the past you never would have saw.. it's Freddy Fender's band.. they some how had to mainstream.. it's a good thing we don't need approval anymore
