I just wonder how many parts a month one needs to produce, to warrant this kind of machine? Sounds like you need a lot.

Hi gredangeo, hard to say it depends on multiple factor, let's say between 35'000 and 150'000, but we do have customer wo do less and who do more

@@tornoschannel Whoa. That many parts potentially? That's an impressive amount. I can see saving 1 second a part be big deal over 150000 of them.

It's mostly for high-volume, low variation parts. For example, you might have a catalog of valve parts with similar specs and every run is say 100k/batch, this would make a lot of sense especially if you have limited shop space. The six or eight spindle lathes I have seen are usually for in-house machining, very rarely would a job shop have this kind of equipment.
