yes you have to request it. It doesnt come with it any longer since most people dont use it. Its good for tall grass. I dont use it at home but we have another Toro at the mountain bike trails and yes we do need it there since the grass gets very high in the summer time. Enjoy the Toro I do

I just brought one home from Lowes, got it all set-up (and I'm an experienced 60 year-old mower!), and mowed for 15 minutes when a huge black cloud appeared. Even though the oil was added (all of it, carefully, to the right level, SECURE top) the engine was compromised, fine oil mist all over lawn and mower, and almost no oil left in the mower. 15 minutes in. Going back to Lowes.

Oh man sorry to hear that. I just moved my neighbors yard with mine and ran great 18200 sq ft. The only issue I had was a small oil leak on the valve cover. I took it out fixed it and running great. If you got it at Lowes Toro just came out with the new 163cc mower that does the smartstow but its in black color. I love the 163cc motor better than the 150cc

Sent mine back! Brand new out of the box leaked oil from the overhead valve cover on the bottom of the cover! Made in nexico, they put very little high heat gasket sealant on the cover! Noticed this with all Bruggs and Stratten engines, even on Craftsmans, and the Troy Builts!

I had one do that and noticed others did complain about that. I just fixed myself by removing flimsy cover and making it flat again with hammer and reinstalled no issues do far. Sometimes these companies have bad quality control. I am testing out some electric ones now and having some fun with them. Have a couple of videos out on them but still gas is king.

My 2011 Toro Superbagger height adjustment aren't numbered either. Once you figure out the height you want your grass to be. It's easy to adjust.

Adjust the governor spring plate located between the gas tank and the carburetor cover you can put your fingers in there and bend it forward and it will give the lawnmower the power it needs just don’t bend it too far

Wow it worked this thing is a beast now. Just like you said just a bit I actually had to put back some to exactly 90 degree and its perfect. Its like having the 163 cc motor on this thing. I am sure it will waste a little more gas but who cares. I actually removed the personal pace system two months ago and installed their standard levers and I like it more. I spoke to a few lawn guys and they hate the personal pace so I tried it and for me is much better. Now it pulls me and before I kept having to push it. Thanks for the heads up I love it.

Great video and just received mine today. It does feel cheap compared to older models. For the price why Toro doesnt put the 1 handle height adjustment like so many others have done. No bearings in the wheels which was a little dissappointing. I had returned my first electric mower Ryobi 21in HP self propelled , tires had bearing and felt heavy duty. Unfortunately the blade kept shutting off while mowing on my second use so I returned everything and picked this up. Really put me off electric mowers for a while , we arent there yet if you have a large yard and St.Augustine. Cant wait to use this mower and hoping for the best.

@@ExtremDIYMarco, I have the. Lue knobs in what appears to be the correct locked position.. as yours. However, is about 18” inches if downward play on the handle. I’m not speaking of push downward speed control… I’m speaking of the entire handle assembly. The only way the nubs in each side stay put is how I have them. While moving, the handle moved about a 1/3 meter forward, and the blue sides disengaged. , flopping around. I forgot to say, this a newly reconditioned 2021 vintage.

@@robertjason6885 ok I opened mine up and at 18 inches the long handle is close to the floor so it means the blue knobs are not locking into the correct holes. If you look at the video on time 2:43 the knobs handle must be same direction as the black metal frame. You need to pull and twist the blue knobs to be able to unlock and lock the main handle into the correct hole(there are 2 hole positions you can choose from to use the lawn mower and 1 position to store the mower upright) . With the handle at 90 degrees were you can see the knobs. Twist and pull to see if the silver pin comes in and out. Hope this helps let me know if it works. Thank you

Hello thank you I appreciate that. Trying to grow the channel by giving my best opinion on products we can all use. I spoke to Toro a while back and they told me you can use them on the notch and in between. If you look at the video at time 2:01 I put that 4th grade picture that Toro has for the wheel height and it shows 9 adjustments from 1 inch to 4 inches. I wish they would put a single lever or at least one in front and one in the rear instead of this but I like the lawn mower. Thank you

I have the same model and use it as my secondary mower to my Time Cutter. My biggest complaint about this particular mower is that when I try to mulch with it, I get a lot of leaves/grass blow out from the right front wheel area. Anyone else have this problem of have a solution that I am overlooking.

Hello I have notice that when I was using it before. I recently went to the new Toro Recycler Max with the 163cc motor. I was a bit underpowered on this unit with the 150cc motor. I mostly bag but I also had the super recycler and it mulched amazing. Make sure your blade is super sharp. I dont think there is a fix for that issue that I know of. Thanks

hello I do enjoy using my Toro but I do have a lake so when its full of grass because I collect my clippings in the lake section it does tend to have a little trouble climbing when full of grass. If your hill is not too inclined and you are not bagging it should be fine. When climbing the personal pace is not too effective you kind of have to push it a bit. Hope this helps This one is the 150cc motor maybe the one with the 163cc motor might have more pulling power but doesnt have the folding option. I did have the 163cc before but was the older model and didnt have that issue.

Can you tell me? Because I cannot find this answer anywhere! When you utilize the self pace mower and you get to a small section like in between bushes. What happens when you mow in between two bushes and then need to pull back out?? Are you fighting the self propel drive? Does it roll back smoothly? And also last question: Can I mow without utilizing the personal pace drive??

Hello when mowing in between trees its easy to pull back without any resistance. Its a smooth transition unlike some of the newer electric mowers that have a delay. I have both the gas and the electric and both are great with the personal pace. I have also an EGO lawn mower and hate it. Your other question I dont think you can mow without using the personal pace. You would have to remove it completely and install their lever option or buy the one that comes with the lever to activate the transmission wish is great also. Either option is good. I think there is a front wheel drive that doesnt have the personal pace and lever for the drive. Let me know if you have any other question happy to help.

Hello no it does not, just regular gas will work in the fuel tank. You will need to have oil in the crankcase of the engine. So if you buy it brand new it comes with the oil for that. thanks

Hello if you mean the walking speed I am not sure about the powersmart but the Toro the faster you walk the faster it goes up to a certain limit. I have tried the Toro personal pace and the lever standard option on the Toro both work great faster than I can walk. My personal preference is the lever instead of the personal pace for lawn mower. The Honda lever to me is the best wish is just like the new Milwaukee lawn mower. Hope it helps let me know if you have any questions. Thank you

@@ett2 Well this one on this video is the 150cc which its borderline on the power. I had the 163cc before this one and its perfect with the power. We also purchased a Craftsman for the mountain bike trails we maintain here in Miami and its got the 163cc motor from Briggs and its a beast. Cuts high weeds like butter. Toro does have the 190cc also if you are looking for that extra power. The issue is that the Toro with the 163cc motor doesnt come with the smartstow option. You can also look at the 190cc motor which I have been told its very powerful if you can find one I think they stopped making it. Thanks

Hello its like 3 3/4 and 4 inch that I use. The mower looks like its on 1 inch but the grass is high middle of the summer. Hello did you check the belt to make sure its not broken? Also make sure the spring at the end of the cable is attached and not broken. Also check your warranty of the unit. We have the 21565 & use it weekly to mow a 12 acre cemetery. You lost me on the 'last forever' . At the one year mark almost everything is broken. We now need a 3d set of rear wheels, due to poor quality. If not for poor quality or poor design, there are a few good features. Mostly this a is gimiky mower, like one coat paint.

Yes you are correct. You can always remove the personal pace and install the simple lever they offer on their more inexpensive models. I did that and love it, so you dont have to push it and now it pulls me like a regular mower. Personal pace is not for everyone. I have the 60V version of this mower and it works better for some reason less pushing more of a neutral feel. Thanks

Hello it can some time get clogged. I used to have the 163cc motor with no issue but they dont make the smartstow with the 163cc which makes no sense. I dont let the grass to get too big so it wont clog. You can also cut smaller amounts or cut more often. The 150 cc is a bit small to cut high grass. Sorry it didnt work out for you. I am using the super recycler 60v now and its very nice option but pricy. Hope you find the correct one for your needs. thanks

Hello still enjoy mine but I did a modification to it. I was having some issues with the personal pace and basically I removed it and installed their regular lever that you see on the cheaper models and love it much better without the personal pace. You can try doing that and see if you might enjoy using it or you can sell it and get something else. I purchased the 60V version of this one and I like it very much. For some reason the personal pace on the 60V is smoother and is more enjoyable. I use both mowers depending on the mood I am in. But try that and hopefully you can enjoy it again. I went to my Toro dealer and ordered the parts I needed from them. I know it was an extra expense but I had to try it and now its better. Let me know what you decide. Thanks

I have a new Toro lithium, it sucks, drive wheel fell off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.

Hello sucks to hear that. I have the Recycler from the video, the 60V Recycler and the Super Recycler 60v and never had any issues with any of them. I have noticed some complaints about the tires falling of the units. I always go over the entire units when I buy them since these things can happen. I haven't had any major issues with any of the Toros that I have except for the small oil leak on the valve cover that I fixed which is a bit of a cheap part. I am outgrowing the Personal Pace which I converted one of mine to a regular lever but so far so good at least for me. I did get the 60V on this same one and also the Super Recycler in 60V and I like that one a lot. Time will tell

The “T” in Toro stands for trash. That is where you will be standing to throw this mower away if you buy or own it

My last Trash lasted 28 years....I'll try another Trash and see how long it goes. Remember it's just a lawn mower and it's just supposed to cut grass and last, simple.
