Toro 824OE Snow Blower - SIX YEAR Review - Still worth buying in 2025?

Back in 2012 22:49 i had a toro 826 snowblower. I used it until 2019 and i love it because of the quick chute. Then switch to the Arien deluxe. The ariens is much better machine with the bigger Tires, auger. EZ turn was nice also. The only thing I didn’t like was it didn’t have the quick chute. Recently the toro 824 was on sale for $470 i bought it and sold my arien deluxe. Toro 824 is good enough for residential used

824OE was on clearance at Aubuchon today for $319 and my Dad needed a new one.

replaced the 1989 toro 826 in 2016 toro 826 still going strong with plastic shoot and housing i did hit a steel pipe witch did shut down motor gear box is fine but broke an auger bolt so they say you dont need sheer pins i run them anyway only replaced 2 since 2016 and every snow is about 3 hour's straight heavy use in northern Minnesota awesome machines

The fact that Home Depot allows their snowblowers and lawnmowers to sit outside year-round and then tries to sell them is ridiculous but nobody's holding them accountable so they'll definitely keep doing it.

They were likely stored in a warehouse in the off-season, or possibly outdoors in a chained-off section of the parking lot.
