I have the same model, you're the only person to post anything about the LX426, thanks for sharing, great video and notes you posted.

Justin Bennett Great video, I didn't know about the little belt in the rear, so you saved me some time, going to replace both at the same time, belts are ordered and just waiting, but now I know how to do it, no guessing, thank you.

This video helped me a lot. Especially the tip about connecting the old drive belt with the new one before you pulled the old one out. That was smooth. Any suggestions on helping with the new upper belt that goes around the top of the dual pulley? I can't get it to go on the large pulley as it's too thick. I've tried taking the nut/bolt off the pulley but it won't budge. Thanks.

Very good my friend! I bought a used toro recycler I think it is and belt broke. Paid a guy $40 to come out and put a new one on.(that makes me feel bad since I am or career was as a tool maker and had a swimmping pool installation co. later on) I do have some back problems due to working to hard too much I guess and 3 bulged discs 1 lamenectomy. My main issue from the jump was no guide and no help It broke again but a couple tricks you used may make it possible for me to do it. I could not get the damn thing off the ground to even look , saw you used a couple 4x4's to prop it up so If I can get some one to just place the boards and help lift should be ok. Another was it is a SMALL rider mower (24 in cut I think) and could not find any type of manual or video till I ran across you. Thank You!!!. I rent and landlords all over me about lawn so I will give it a spin tomorrow.

Only difference is I have a single blade, not dual. And I went to wipe the water off the tag to get model # and it took ink and all. So been a question if I even had the correct belt.
@MrMikebutkus8 жыл бұрын
There are belts for the drive unit, under the seat. Just had my Toro LX 475 not go forward while cutting the lawn. I found out the upper drive belt came off the idler and rear drive pulley and was sitting in the variable pulley. Removed battery from below the seat, battery holder, put the tractor in neutral. Put the upper belt on the spring loaded idler, then used that to get it back on the upper pulley by turning the upper pulley while getting the belt in the groove. Bingo, works again. Maybe a branch got up there and the branch directed the belt off the pulley ? This is a 2007 tractor and the lower pulley is going, so next spring some belt work.

I hadn't thought to look under the battery. That's just too obvious. I think mine popped off the pully too, but the main drive belt wise in dire need of replacing.

Anyone know how to replace the drive belt to rear wheels on a DH210 or DG220? Drive and brake rods go through the belt. Considering cutting them to get belt off/on and welding back together !
@justinbennett074 жыл бұрын
Does the manual not describe it? manuals.toro.com/126689/index.html
@ColinWatters4 жыл бұрын
@@justinbennett07 Sadly not. Any issue with the traction belt they say refer to the service centre. Toro UK described it as an involved process involving removing the deck! Heck I've only done that about a dozen times. The ends of the pushrod are so hard to get at that I think cutting them, putting the belt on and welding them back together is going to be easier than disconnecting the ends.
@justinbennett074 жыл бұрын
@@ColinWatters if you live near Los Angeles, CA, you can bribe me with a case of beer to help you figure out the engineering nightmare lol
@ColinWatters4 жыл бұрын
@@justinbennett07 Sadly I'm in the UK but thanks for the offer. I can see what has to be done its just that getting access to do it is looking like a nightmare. I've ordered some tubes so I can cut one or both push rods and easily weld them back together. That's looking like the simplest solution. The belt lasted 12 years so I doubt I'll ever have to do it more than once.

I am trying to find out how to remove a mower deck on a toro 13 32 hxl and everytime I try to search for this it crashes my Samsung phone. How do you remove the mower deck?

Thanks for your video, appreciate the references. With that being said, the engineers at Toro should have this machine shoved up their a***es. No way should changing belts require this much wrenching and fiddle farting around.

Save yourself 25 minutes of watching Justin turn wrenches and download the service manual with real pictures. This link is for the LX420, but the setup it the same: www.toro.com/en/parts/partdetails/?id=30272. Service Manual (EN) 492-9184 Rev 236 pages. Instructions begin on page 3-62. Also I would not recommend pressure washing your deck unless you are going to replace your mower spindle bearings. I use to wash my decks until I found out water was getting into the bearings and rusting them, now I just scrape the underside of the deck clean as needed. I also drilled and taped my spindles for a grease zerk and removed the inner seals so grease could get in..no more rusty bearings. Toro should have added grease zerks at the factory like John Deere....

Did you just call pliers a C wrench?
@engineer20017 жыл бұрын
Around here, we call those channel locks. A crescent wrench is a totally different animal.
