If a reel mowed lawn that is normally cut at .625 has not been cut in a week, it would be considered to be long and overgrown. This is my adventure in lawn mowing. I am preparing for a parade to happen in a few days time from this moment. Come along and possibly learn something.

I hate to tell you, but a renovation will not get rid of your poa triv(hate to see you go through renovation and not achieve your goal)...it will be back in the spring...your only chance is a aggressive tenacity(every 3 days/5 apps total) and then when it is really week hit it with Anuew for the rest of the year. And then it still may not be dead but you may not notice it. Mine turned brown and died, we will see if it comes back in the fall.

@@211212112 for sure,in my 30 years of golf course maintenance, in some scenarios it's actually desirable, on lower maint budgets, bot so in others , the worst case I encountered the "annual blugrass" was over 90% of the putting green surface, it took 4 years of cultural, mechanical, and chemical methods to get the creeping bentgrass established, still had about 10 % of the poa annua , the only place we ever worried about it was on the putting surfaces, mid Atlantic region, transition zone
@211212112
@211212112 2 жыл бұрын
@@garyboardwine3349 yeah I figured the spots to really tend and cultivate would be the bentgrass putting greens. That grass is pretty unique and does not seem extremely hardy. I’d like to see it in its native areas where large swaths of it grows naturally if that exists. As far as the fairways and such it would seem ideal to use whatever grass that grows well in that area. I’ve seen nice lawns of many types of grass except crab grass.

Poa Trivialis likes full renovations... the seeds stay underground and the pop out after the renovations... perhaps a spot treatment "kill them all" in the places where there is Poa. And the pre emergent two times a year for the next 2 or 3 years...

@@lawnrebel It seems logical to dig those areas out but I guess you're right that it could be bigger than it looks. It still seems easier than smoking the whole thing which didn't even work last time since you have to do the dead areas anyway? I guess the short growing season doesn't help but you have had spots for several years and the effect on the lookie loos is still there so why not just focus on the problem areas? Dad dancing at its most embarrassing 😎 purely out of interest how many hours on average do you spend working on your lawn and do you have a job that gives you enough time ? In the UK most of our lawns are a fraction of the size you have but small does not mean easy, more turns at the end of each pass makes mowing tiring especially for a person who is a senior senior citizen !

Dude the Milwaukee keeps dying on you because it’s battery powered. The battery is still a very primitive invention, it’s only on its third or fourth truly major advancement in storage capacity technology.Most of the time the engineers designing batteries have mostly been focusing on making them fit into stuff like cell phones, because that’s where the money is. Sure I agree batteries should be better, but that’s the price you pay for supply and demand. Vape batteries are just more important to the masses than long lasting tool batteries. Oh well.
