Teoscar Hernandez, last time I checked, was 3rd in MLB in RBIs and is tied for 6th in home runs with 11, the top MLB HR hitter has 13 (Kyle Tucker). Teoscar stated he was willing to play in Toronto again. Why was he not hired back in the off season? He was a key part of our offense and run scoring and key to helping Vladdy develop and hit as a power hitter. Why is it so hard for our management to understand certain players were key to our offensive dominance in 2021? And I knew Ohtani would never sign with the Jays because Japan is central to his personal life and thus Toronto would be too far from his home, family and fans in Japan -- LA or another west coast team was the most likely choice for the MLB star.

Disappointing?What's disappointing is the team is performing exactly the way it should be, given brutal trades and a did nothing off season.

This isn’t a disappointing season at all. They are exactly where I thought they would be. The incompetence of the GM and the errors that Schneider continues making has resulted in this mess ! First this isn’t a new issue. The Jays hitting woes have been going on at least a year and a half now. The GM’s job is to give a team the best possible opportunity to win! What has Atkins done over this period to address this ? Zero.. at the trade deadline last year he made one trade for a position player and that was Paul Dejong , supposedly for Bichettes injury. However he was DFA’d a month later , because he can’t hit! Then the post season was a continuation of the regular season. Not enough impactful hitting . The offseason gave him another opportunity to get some impactful bats. So we go after IKF, Kiermeir, Vogelbach.. none of these players are known for their hitting prowess! The only player I agreed with is Turner but after a great start his average has gone down to .238! So Atkins said he expected his top players to regress to their mean but all they have done is continue to regress ! And last year they had a remarkably healthy season for their pitchers. Shapiro said he has never experienced that in his career. So is it surprising that the pitchers are injured now and they have no depth to address this! Now let’s move to Schneider the manager . So many errors he has made as a coach . Too many to list but the move in the playoffs removing a player in Berrios who was outstanding? Even Atkins threw him under the bus for that. The last point is his incredible reluctance to move Springer out of the lead off spot is just baffling .. he isn’t a lead off hitter at this point should be hitting at the bottom of the lineup. He is hitting .196 right now how can you justify in the middle of May that he leads off? The end of my rant .. sorry for the length .. this team will not accomplish a thing until they move away from Atkins first and Schneider next .. the hitting coaches need to be moved out also!

The batting lineup thing is so overblown here in Toronto....and it makes headlines when people get moved. The Rays move people around constantly - changing it sometimes from day to day depending on who they are playing.

I agree completely and from what I've seen its the only place where people obsess over lineup order like this. Its not like there are any serious thumpers on this team that are way down in the order or anything. We also have changed the lineup many times and it hasn't changed anything. But sure lets move Schneider or Varsho higher up and suddenly we'll start scoring a bunch of runs.

When i first read the headline Julia joins the Walk Off Podcast, I thought great! That will increase their viewership! I thought it meant as a regular. But I realize now it was for only one day 😞

I would tell Kirk not to swing the bat if the runner is on 1st with less than 2 outs, and maybe you'll get lucky and draw a walk. You're only allowed to swing if the runner is on second or third, or if the bases are empty.

This team is a few guys like VG & BB who have checked out cuz they are waiting on their "entitled" 30mil/5yr extensions, GS who has another 2 yrs and 50 mil coming to him all being coddled by a useless gm , RA, and in over his head manager JS

I find I have gone from being upset/disappointed to being happy when they lose. I have been a dedicated Jays fan since 2004 so I have seen some bad teams. However, last year’s teams and now this team have just made me stop watching. I find I hardly ever put the games on. I want this team to tank. We need major changes. Bo and Vlad are not the answer.
