Fire crews are still at the scene of an ongoing huge 6 alarm fire that has been ripping since yesterday morning, Thursday May 25th at the corner of Cherry Street and Commissioners Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The blaze broke out at 1h am on Thursday at the GFL recycling plant located in an industrial area in the port of Toronto near the city center. A large amount of flames rose up in the air and a dense smoke column accommodated residents of the downtown core. Firemen from the TFS (Toronto Fire Service) battled the blaze using multiple ladder trucks as well as a rarely deployed fire boat to douse the flames using water from Lake Ontario. A fire chief escorted members of the media with cameras closer to the fire to give out an interview. The majority of the fire has now been contained but fire crews will likely remain at the site of the fire for days to come to put it out completely. Multiple ambulances and mass casualty vehicles from Toronto Paramedics were spotted at the scene in prevention but nobody was injured during the incident. Constant rain helped containing the fire but the intensity of it made it last for now over 36 hours.
