In London the first lockdown all homeless people were immediately housed by the government and then tossed back out on the streets

I know it sounds bad but it's my take on this man. He reminds me of a dog whose been hurt \ abused so much he expects nothing but more pain. He talks fast because his thoughts race 1000 miles a minute trying to stay on top of everything needed to survive every second on the streets. It's impossible to live in constant hyper vigilant mode on the streets as he does without going mad. If you look closely despite how together he appears he is fighting off madness. Life on the streets slowly destroys the mental health of those who live street homeless like he does. Watching him to the end of this video was heartbreaking to me. My brother used to say when he was homeless like this man he got little sleep and no rest! P.S. To Mark I now understand why you get so upset about the sandwiches so many people give those who are street homeless. When you are freezing a sandwich is a poor substitute for a warm safe home. It is not that the sandwich is NOT appreciated it is the fact that a sandwich is not a solution only housing solves homelessness. A sandwich can serve as a cruel reminder of how painful it is to actually be chronically street homeless. He helped me understand this. Thank you Jeffery and Mark.

hes 100% correct. I'm from NYC and know plenty of homeless and there's literally dozens upon dozens of charities, organizations, schools and even random people in vans who provide free meals to homeless to the point where if you're in Manhattan you have options to where you wanna eat every day to get the best tasting food. my homeless friends have told me so many times that 99% of people on the street or the train begging for money because they're homeless and "hungry" are just trying to collect money for dope. The people who aren't on drugs don't tend to beg for money and instead collect cans or provide oddjob work to people since they tend to be very bored anyways with so much of their time freed up every day due to not having to deal with the daily heroin missions that take up most time of all broke addicts

he's speaking pretty coherently, idk wtf you're talking about. you know how unhealthy it is for the brain to not get enough sleep, it literally kills brain cells. the overall stress of being homeless, sleeping on the hard ground, not eating enough, the cold, it takes his toll if he nods off, or has red eyes, those are the reasons for it. why don't you try sleeping outside for a week in the rain and cold, eating once a day off of the Burger King dollar menu and sleeping less than 4 hours a day, and see how many random people on the street tell you it looks like you're on hard drugs

Turn your way to God for help buddy. Stop addiction if you maybe have. Read the Holy Bible for answers, for consolatian, read the New Testament in it for the Gospel. Go to church, ask there for shelter included some work for money. Pray God for forgiveniss of your sins through the powerful work of His Son Jesus Christ. Amen. (that should be the main wish) Pray and work if you can, I am sympatize with you all.

I wonder how they ended up in that situation. I mean, I just can't believe that literally no one would hire them. Not even as a waiter or sumthn with minimum wage. Would like a little bit of context on why no company is hiring them. So sad.

Those tired slow eyes aren't from pain or no sleep. It's called "heroin"! That also explained his homelessness.

Yes I noticed the same thing. But just because he is under the influence does not mean that it is why he is homeless. He could have become homeless first and now uses to numb the loneliness, cold, feelings of abandonment. Please do not judge him.He seems nice enough, and he truly needs help.If you want to do something try to do something that could help him, not criticize him.Life if very hard today, it does not take much to end up on the street. We need to have compassion for people who clearly could use help not just try to find out why it has to be his fault why is is in the situation he is currently in. Yes he has a drug issue, that is something he needs help with if he is trying to stop. It is very hard to stop using heroin once you are dependent,It is hard if you have support, and a place to stay, and a warm place to sleep and clean yourself up. Oh my God it would be outright hell to try to get off heroin while living alone and on the street. I feel for this guy, buy the grace of God this is not me and my situation. When I go outside every day and see all the homeless people it makes me want to cry.It has got to be so hard living on the street. And that is if you are physically and mentally fit, if you have a handicap it would be oh so very hard to try to exist with no shelter, no food, no money.Oh my God I feel for the homeless,I am so very greatfull that I always had good jobs and was physically able to keep them, that I have a supporting and loving family, that I was never injured to where I could not work, and that I have a warm, safe place to live and sleep and good food to eat. I thank the lord for all that I have because but for the grace of God there go I.
