was wondering if there is some kind of traditional significance that most of the ladies wore black and white outfits?

That’s the good question 🙋‍♂️, I think organizer asked all dancer to wear that just for that day to appear more beautiful. Moreover , it also signify the unity among Tibetan youth irrespective of region and religion. The main traditional significance is that all Tibetan are encouraged to participate in lhakar and speak Tibetan & Dance Tibetan dance. As our culture is at the brink of extinction especially in western country ; via Gorshey it has succeeded somehow in gathering the interest and motivation in our youth. As compared to past few years ago , I have seen more youth are participating in Tibetan dance , wearing Tibetan dress and speaking Tibetan. Everything has pros & cons but with Gorshey it has somehow created positive impact in our society. The color doesn’t matter ; as long as more youth are drawn into our culture, we are winning against ccp goal to divide & make us Chinese. Having Gorshey is better than none!
