Damn Kerfoot. You can tell he's got a winning mentality. He was really open today. It's promising hearing him say "the whole goal here is to win the Stanley cup" rather than saying "hopefully try to find success in the playoffs.." or some other generic and non specific answer that most players and coaches give. He's acknowledging the objective and isn't afraid to say it. If you really believe it's possible, that goes a long way.

Dubas does an excellent job most of the time, people complained he didn’t do this without understanding about timing about other teams willing to give up quality players at that time, ie ROR and Schenn and others

People should not discount the possibility that Murray could be a positive factor in a playoff run. He's been there, and he's been all the way. Hopefully there are no more injuries.

They maybe slower but are smarter and positioned to accommodate for that. Man high, angles calculated, take the bodies and slowing things down. No worries n fingers crossed.

With the new faces on the team especially Luke Schenn and Jake McCabe in front of the next, I really feel Murray is and will be our guy, just a hunch. We're rooting for ya Matt

It's definitely Sammy's net to lose. I trust both goaltenders in the end. I just hope murray can stay healthy for the rest of the season. Because if he gets injured one more time than he's not taking the starter job for Sammy

@Phil S I think murray would've been our confirmed number 1 by now if he stayed healthy. But he can't stay healthy. Let's say he does start in game 1, and stays healthy until game 3 or 4, but then gets injured, that would put Sammy in a bad position

Kerf took a reverse elbow to the face last playoffs. And he shows up in the playoffs, maybe not last one as much, but in the past few playoffs runs he has.

@@LeafsAndCars well the problem with that is that if we get bounced after round 1 we will just be in total rebuild next year and I guarantee we will lose Matthewsand possibly Nylander too. Many of these new acquisitions are also only rentals so it will be an ugly situation either way.

The D on the right side gave up multiple breakaways in the Flames game, and eventually led to a goal ! That needs to be fixed ! Immediately ! I’m not counting him out, he has been fine other then a few hick up games, but he is looking across at Vasy,……. He is unreal and really is a playoff goalie, he comes up big and steals games and most of all very experienced , I’m not knocking Sammy he has done well in regular season , however he needs to perform at 130% just to remotely be able to be at a lower level then Vasy , I hope with every fibre of my being I’m wrong, Everything needs to be 100% just to have a chance, I don’t have faith in the leafs that when it really matters they scans dig deep enough to get it done.

Kerfoot is a swiss army knife and can play a lot of roles without being a liability. He's just a bit expensive for what he does. Holl is a liability and needs someone other than Rielly to cover for him. He's not a "bad" d-man but if the Leafs can get something for him, they should.

You are seriously underestimating kerfoot, he gives it 100% every shift and he may not have the best stats he is a good player. He also has been unlucky with scoring this year and I’m sure his luck may turn around soon.

Kerfoot has had a ruff year offensively but he is still a solid penalty killer and brings speed to the bottom 6. He also has been know to produce when it matters with 11 points in 19 playoff games as a leaf. As for holl he has been forced into to big of a roll this year that he wasn't quite suited for but with McCabe and schenn that should ease the pressure on him and allow him to slide to the 3rd pair instead the the 21 minutes per night hes been playing. The guy is still 3rd on the team in hits and 2nd in blocked shots even with the move so he's still an important piece moving forward

I think people are too hard on Holl and on Kerfoot. Holl had a good game last night, and typically plays 20 minutes a night every night. Now, he doesn't have to. He's a 2 million dollar d-man that delivers good value. Kerfoot has been so snake bit this year! Last night I saw him make 2 amazing passes that his linemates couldn't finish. That's been his luck, but he's fast, he pursues the puck with some hustle, and can play up and down the line up. Obviously, the Leafs felt he's important enough to keep despite is $3.5Mil cap hit. It's nonsense to say he doesn't deserve a spot on this roster.
