Matthews' goal total will depend on Berube's team strategy and Matthews' health. If Berube really wants to emphasis playoff success, he will play a more defence forward game, develop a second power play unit, limit the time the Core 4 plays and starts resting players once the Leafs' playoff spot is locked in. Matthews is undoubtedly the best goal scorer in the NHL but if his time is limited I can see him around the 50 goal mark even being healthy all year with the Leafs focusing on a successful playoffs.

How do David put up with Mr.Know it alls personality? Mike is always correcting David with what he thinks the answer should be! It's good to be confident but just how he talks.

Willy may get 50 this year.... he'll make a push for it.... just to say he did it . he's definitely a 40+ goal scorer every year for the foreseeable future

G51 A45 P96 Take the Under Toronto puts up 95 points this year. Last ten years? 1.Fred Anderssen 2.James Reimer 3.Jack Campbell 4.Jonathan Bernier 5.Joseph Woll 6.Jonas Gustavsson 7.Ilya Samsonov 21st century okay 1.Fred Anderssen 2.CuJo 3.Petr Mrazek 4.James Reimer 5.Garret Sparks 6.Andrew Raycroft 7.Mikael Telqvist Fred played more games for the Leafs had a better save percentage, made more saves, won more games. Man I was holding a spot for Toskala. Ooops I blew That, Sparks would have been eighth. Mrazek wasn't that bad a goalie, just terrible in Toronto. In this group I'd put him 4th.

Wheres all the Vesa Toskala love ? Lol fully expected him on the goalie list
and a 1st round playoff exit yet again because all the 3 egomanics listed above only care about individual stats instead of team success

Anderssen was a solid goalie but never knew how to close his 5-hole. (Still doesn't, canes D just keeps opposing players to the outside better) . And as much hate as the core 4 get for crumbling under pressure, andersen scared the bajesus out of me closing out a tough game. His numbers were good, but he had the worst mental game and five hole I've ever seen. It was honestly impressive.

52 for matthews

who cares !!! The only thing he will be judged on is his playoff performance .If they loose in the first round yet again next year ,and Mathews is a ghost again ,then it doesnt matter if he gets 80 in the REG season .Nobody will remember that unless he finally has some playoff success ,like taking this team on his back in a game 7 and scoring a hat trick

More importantly... no changes to core 4... 1st round playoff exit with Tavares and Marner non factors. Unless Berube channels a Larry Robinson "50 goals" rant and they decide to play winning hockey and not stat chasing hockey.
