I’ll never forget the anger I had after the Boston game 7 collapse. I just silently walked past all my roommates got in my car and drove, got to the first stop light and just screamed until my voice was raw. It’s been so long, but man the happiness tonight was unreal.

I can accept the losses to Boston or to Wasington, even the last year against the Lightning where they played their hearts out and the Lightning just barely edged them out, it happens.. What I couldn't accept was the Loss to the Habs. They looked like garbage against a garbage team. They could have skated circles around the Habs, ragged the puck for 60 minutes straight and the Habs would have been helpless. I genuinely considered not bothering to watch the season after that. Coruse I did, but it wasn't until after last years series against the lightning where any real faith was restored in the team.

Every Leafs fan needs to watch this video! I've been a fan for 32 years. I don't ever miss a Leaf playoff game so I've seen every clip from this video live as it happened. There's been a lot of heartaches, especially the last 7 years. I waited 19 years for them to win a series and they finally did it! I went nuts when they scored the series clinching goal, as I'm sure every Leaf fan did. Go Leafs Gooo!!!

It’s times like these that make life worth living. I know that might seem crazy to some. I grew up in a Leafs household. My room was decked out with Sundin pictures all over the wall. The first part of this video is the most depressing, heartbreaking, gut wrenching video I've seen in a long time. Been a Leaf fan since I was 6. Saw them win it in '67 but I've lived through every disappointment, every heart break, every set back, all the ridicule since then and then some. The Pat Burns and Pat Quinn years were really good. But the playoff losses between 2017 and 2022 make my stomach turn over. Well, we finally broke the curse. Let's move on. GO LEAFS GO!!!

Why was I crying through this whole video... ill never forget game 7 and ill never forget the habs coming back from a 3-1 in the series. But man oh man, us Leafs fans really been through so much trauma and this video is the perfect representation of hope. 😢❤ we got demolished in round 2 but at least we made it. The work that Tavares did in order to hold on to the puck, do a couple of laps around the offensive zone, and finally put it in, reminded of Gilmour's goal in 1993. And the way that Tavares celebrated while being mobbed. So happy for all those guys, especially the core and the GTA boys. And extra happy for Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph. It's also been 19 years for them since the last tie they called a series win for the Leafs. And they've been calling games since at least the early 90s.

Yep been living this forever now. To be fair, they have been in every single series since 2016. With the exception of maybe Washington in 2016 where they lost in 6. It's all come down to a bad game or bad play. It's been unreal to actually witness loss after loss when it just shouldn't happen. And they always do it to themselves. There's just a very toxic aura around this team that can't possibly not affect the players. People call it a curse; people call it the media. Whatever it is, the same thing will keep happening unless something on the outside changes. Because we've had the squad to do it. Anybody that says otherwise is a straight up fool.

What isn't being pointed out is the first series with Boston was under a complete different Leafs team, by the time of the next series, against Washington, the entire franchise had been stripped down and outside of a handful of staff, had been fired and replaced. We went into that Washington series icing 9 rookies. So no part of the current Leafs own any of the failure prior to that.

The Panthers ended the longest all-time playoff series win drought just the previous year (2022), so really the Leafs just needed to wait their turn. Or at least I hope that’s how it works as a Sabres fan (they now own the longest playoff series win drought at 16 years… next longest is 10). Oof. Also, the same year the Leafs finally win, the Wild extend their streak of first round exits to 7 straight playoff appearances, the same number as the leafs had. _a soul for a soul_
