Mosport, my beloved home away from home: always to be found at the inside top entrance to corner 2 just past the marshal (CRCA) stand. Now home to the Harvey Hudes Memorial. The infield camping was the greatest rolling party in Canadian history.

This was called the Player's 200, but it was part of the Canadian Sports Car Championship. Not to be confused with better known also titled Player's 200 from the Can-Am series

Awesome. Barely any fencing, or barriers, no tire walls and virtually no run-off room. And huge crowds. Even the biggest events now don't get half that number. The only thing the same today is layout of the circuit.

@AlmsAudi1 - yeah, but turn one used to have pit exit there (and pit entrance at 10) ... not like now which exits well past corner 1.. It's also wider now.

Had this been a CanAm race, which the written description was in-error, the likes of: Jim Hall, John Surtees, Dan Gurney, Phil Hill, and Mark Donohue would have filled out this field, as they were all contenders for the 1966 championship.

Not mentioned is the first heat Jerry Grant crash that resulted in the death of Marshall Gordon Harrison. Other than that it was a great day.
