this was exactly what i needed! im flying for the first time ever AND doing it alone this january, never stepped foot in an airport. its nice to be able to see someone actually navigate it so its not so scary feeling! awesome little walkthrough! :)

The reason there's no terminal 2 is because when terminal 3 was built, there had already been much older terminals 1 and 2 that were later torn down and replaced by one super terminal which is the current terminal 1. That's how they ended up with terminal 1 and 3 but no terminal 2.

Love this airport despite the hassles inherent in any busy airport. Europe and the U.S. have many more delays. Fabulous tour Dan!!

The "Train to City" is the Union-Pearson Express, it runs every 15 minutes between Pearson and Union Station downtown. It makes the trip in 25 minutes with 2 stops along the way.

The original terminal (Malton) was Terminal 1. It was later joined / supplemented with the new Air Canada Terminal 2. In much later years, the all-new Terminal 3 was added for International flights. Now, I haven’t been up to the Toronto airport in years, so I can’t really say what happened to the Terminal 2 building. Now you’ve got me curious Dan! 😊

Terminal 2 was built and owned by Transport Canada. T2 was built in modules joined but designed to self contained various carriers. The original plan was to relocate most of the T1 carriers to T2 but there were no takers so Air Canada relocated as both Air Canada and Transport Canada were essentially Federal cousins. T 3 also housed Canadian Airlines with a substantial domestic sector

When Terminal 2 was killed, they never renamed Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 because that would mean all the airlines and (and probably travel agents) around the world would have to change their ticketing and reservation systems to reflect the change. Just easier to keep them called T1 and T3.

Because They Broke Down Terminal 2 at Pearson Airport a lot time back in 2004 and Build Terminal 1 instead, that was the newest Terminal Now. I know that because my mother used to work for Air Canada Before she retired there. She Worked in Terminal 2 First Before Terminal 1 and That was all Air Canada Airlines. Terminal 3 is WestJet and Other Airlines.

I can't say I am impressed with the food at Pearson - never really have been. It could be a lot better. I'd go for a smash burger is available!! 🙂 Hey the food looks good!! Airport prices but not bad!!

I wouldn’t necessarily say Porter is a budget airline its very premium compared to other Canadian airlines.

@@thoughtsontravelandlife As far as I know it is currently getting updated to accomodate the REM and a bigger space for car pick ups and drop off, because it is congested like hell right now. They even talked about adding another terminal.
