Rielly is playing too much, he's overrated. Played crappy again, he sucks in his D zone no matter who his partner is. He will confuse his D partner switching sides at his will. Rielly is not a top 2 defender, he should not play the power play!

Myers is better. Domi 0G 6A in 22 games? Pretty bad when he hasn't scored a quarter way through the season, and even Holmberg is outscorng him. Why is Dewar on this team?

Timmins is solid. He's a +8, tied for second on the team. Domi 0G in 22 games. Dewar is actually decent in a lot of ways. Skates well, finishes checks, sound defensively. Holmberg has gotten better the last half dozen games or so. Yes, depth scoring is a big issue. We all know that.

I really hate to say it, but the team has not looked the same since Matthews has returned. And when I say that, it's more of indictment on the other 17 skaters and the coaching staff. The return of one guy (who's also the teams best goal scorer) should not negatively impact the whole team like this.

That's the problem. They know he's the best scorer, so it's Pass to Matthews again and again. They pass and shoot like a team without him. Marner especially. It is the other skaters' fault, but you also have to wonder if the coach or Matthews tells them to stop doing it all the time

I could score 40 playing with Marner. 34 and 88 look lost. I predicted before the season that this would be 34's worst season and so far so good. Making him captain was maybe one of the dumbest moves they've made.

The leafs beat themselves. They made many positional mistakes. They could have prevented 2 goals, thus negating the empty netter by winning in regulation, with better positional discipline. It looked like a keystone cops episode of bumbling police stumbling over each other defensively.

There's an offense problem in Toronto. I'm not sure what the problem is because they're getting their chances but they're just not finishing. Right now, the top lines are good for 2-3 goals per game with virtually nothing being contributed by the bottom six. They've helped with a total of nine goals in 30 games, a third of that scored by Lorentz and another two by the rookie Minten. That means there's only four other goals by the bottom six and only two players, Holmberg and Robertson, can take credit. The Leafs have 12 goals in their past six all scored by the top two lines. the bottom six has contributed only two goals so far in December. This team is being propped up by the super goaltending tandem and something has got to change if the Leafs are serious about contending for the Cup.

Marner has been impressing me almost every game, win or lose. It's impossible to miss the effort and determination he brings, and most of our best results have his fingerprints on them somewhere. That's the only positive thing I have to say right now.

The problem has been there offense in the playoffs. The usually lose game seven cause they can't score not cause they can't defend. Now that there playing even more defensively, they have completely lost there scoring touch. I hope they can figure out the offense cause it looks bad right now. No creativity, they dump it in and can't sustain any pressure in the offensive zone. Not to mention there just not playing hard enough right now. They aren't controlling play enough and other than a few little hits there not hitting enough.i hope these are all things they can figure out by the spring

Another game where we had bad reaponse shifts, we would tie the game up and then piss it away, Matthews ties it 1-1 then with 17 seconds to go in 2nd he turns it over and Kane feeds Copp who finds Seider wide open in the high slot and Woll had no chance on....then Knies tipping it in front to tie it up again and then Benoit pinching down and creating a 2 on 1 for Petry to score again to regain the lead like WTF guys..If they didn't collapse defensively right after the goal we'd be in OT with a point at least it's drives me crazy how that's a shift they have right after a huge goal time and time again it's inexcusable just hand momentum back on a silver plater like they don't want it...same thing with Anaheim the other night kept letting them back in..although tonight the Leafs had no urgency to take the lead at all or prevent Detroit from taking the lead again...

McMann looked good getting his chances in his return defense Tanev, Timmins and OEL were active in down low, the 4th line was eating up clock in the Wings zone like no tomorrow and getting chances, but the offense from the bottom 6 has completely dried up as well. I've have started becoming a huge fan of Dewar on the PK and fourth line since his return, he's a speedy pest who can forecheck very well disrupt plays he's a hell of a lot better than Holmberg. I can't wait for Kampf to return to take faceoffs in the D-zone and be back on the PK again so we can take him out Dewar-Kampf-Lorentz/Reaves is my line
