In all of the research, I've done the consensus opinion I've found when it comes to timber matching is just to make sure your L/R/C are timber matched. So I used klipsch for my lower stage and SVS prime elevation for my height speakers. I agree with getting those speakers behind your screen, you'll get a much cleaner look. I love the fit and finish of your room. Nice job!

Nice home theater, awesome set up! This is my only suggestion on your speaker setup. Isolate your center channel from your subwoofer. Either add an auralex foam below the center channel or if you can find a corner for your sub and get a stand for your center channel it will help you avoid vibrations or image distortions from the sub to the center channel.

SVS subwoofers are excellent! They have much lower frequency responses that subwoofers from most other manufacturers. They technically have lower frequency responses than subwoofers in movie theaters because the ones in theaters are more concerned with output to fill larger spaces.

That's a great looking theater. Making a baffle wall to put our speakers behind isn't difficult at all, especially if you already closed out the side wall yourself. IT makes a world of difference to! Grab your wife a heated blanket for the theater. She'll thank you later. Look into using WS2812 LED light strips under your seats with a controller so you can sett he colour and brightness. Put a black light blocking panel "in front" of the strip so the light will only light up the floor directly below it. That's all you need. If you ever make it out West again stop by and check out Clanhold Cinema!

That is what i wanted to ask about: what color "black" paint did you use for the room,borders, etc and what felt did you use and how did you attach it onto the wall? is it coverin the entire room (minus the new section you mentioned is alrwady soundproof)..do you have acoustic panels on there too? also, how are you able to run a 7.2.4 speaker system with that reciever Denon x4300..that is only a 9.2 channel reciever.... looking forward to more vids. thanks in advance....

Thanks! I used matt paint to minimize shine and it was flat black. Ceiling is a slight gray but appears almaot black as well. The black felt on the other side of the room and is attached via a staple gun. The staples are almost invisible and worked well. I could use some acoustic panels in one spot but the room measures well as it is. Also I use the Denon 4300 as a preamp. I have 2 Emotiva XPA5 amps. I specifically bought the 4300 was it can output 11 discrete channels via the preamp section, although only 9 can be powered.

It's just black felt from Joanne if you are in the states. The cloth is to the ceiling, the crown molding was done a year later. It's only stapled at the top and the bottom very sparingly. Don't need many at all to hold up. I'd you decide to do the whole to triple velvet may be unnecessarily expensive, the cheaper felt should be fine.

Why not get them walk fitted speakers , they come in surround sound system.

for front stage they don't perform as well, vast majority of audio is coming form the front. Surrounds fine, but don't want to comprise the fronts.

You have a really beautiful looking home cinema. Love your movieposters they are awesome. Do you have a 2.35:1 screen or 16:9? Really good. I have a Sony projector 295, happy with that, I live in apartment so it's was little bit harder to setup my home cinema. Happy for you.
@gameroomtheater4 жыл бұрын
Thx! Wow the 295 is on the bucket list. Almaot pulled the trigger a few years ago in the 285. Fantastic pq! The screen is 16: 9 but may have seemef wider due to the lens distortion
@Anders-Falt4 жыл бұрын
@@gameroomtheater nice if you in future buy a Sony, don't buy the model 285 because it doesn't support the full bandwidth 18/gbit it only has 13,5. If you want to go really hig-end, buy a JVC NX5 or NX7. They are very expensive but you have a dedicated home theater room so you will take full advantage.

Thx..I have it as far forward as possible and angled up. The sub needed to be in the centre of the wall. Not sure what interference or issue it may cause but I don't like the center. I made the mistake of listening to my buddies Paradigm Surdio Cc690 v5.. now that is a work of art.

@gameroomtheater4 жыл бұрын
Movie Poster all is great for the posters it pulls, but I have Kodi version 18.2 which is not compatible with Movie Poster App (the app hasn't been updated in so long). This is why I use Frontview+ which comes on top of the poster app when something is playing in Kodi. Try it thru that!
@ChicagoBears19774 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I’m not familiar with frontview. Is it easy to install and navigate? I’m thinking of getting the Nvidia shield to go with my setup.

@@ChicagoBears1977 very easy, give it a go!. Enable to auto hide when something isn't playing so that the screen behind it is the running movie poster app. Do auto windows login, and run these apps in startup when you boot up. it is completely hands free them. I don't understand why don't you use a 4k Blu Ray player for the home theater ?
@gameroomtheater4 жыл бұрын
Much easier to rip 4k UHD to your personal servers. No need to get up and swap disks. I have several NAS servers with 30tb of space, much better as I can then play on any tv in the house. Didn't bother installing the 4k player in the theater room and it resides in the family room but not user their either.

Thanks brother! It is the Harmony Ultimate, had it for a few years but works like a champ. Only thing I'm missing is light buttons (I use voice to turn the lights on and off although I do have it intergrated with Harmony as well). Man, closing off made a huge difference, I still can't believe I was in denial for so long. Plus the ambiance of sitting in a closed off room feels more authentic to the movie going experience. Will do a sit down step by step guide on the posters.

What are the dimensions of the theater? Our next house is going to have a basement and I want to build a home theater like this. Is this something that could be done with a spare bedroom or does the area need to be bigger?
@gameroomtheater4 жыл бұрын
it is 13x20. You may not need two rows, but I would recommend a room at least 20' long if you want to do multiple rows, keep in mind you need space to recline all seats too so the rows can't be too close together.
@Krypticid4 жыл бұрын
@@gameroomtheater Thank you! I'm debating on if I need two rows, as there are only three of us that will be living in the house. It would probably be convenient to have two rows, a second row wouldn't be used regularly.
