Quebec has oil. I know this for fact as I worked many years in the Alberta Oil and Gas Energy sector. I had their energy counterpart call me to consult on how we structure our resources. And how we collect royalties and manage and set up properly structure for investors while ensuring that the proper regulations are adhered to. Quebec hasn't done much in this field because when they called for consultation, immediately after, that same year, Trudeau and the Liberals were voted in. Quebec couldn't afford to become the Feds new whipping boy. And frankly, I don't blame them. They were protecting their province and it's citizens. That's what a good provincial government is supposed to do, serve and protect their people first. You are a civil servant, you serve the best interests of the people. Also, they knew, that eventually the Liberals, Trudeau and this false information regarding climate would be exposed. And utilizing and developing the resources you have, would eventually be seen as possible and the proper plan on moving forward. Quebec is no more the evil province, the Feds make them out to be then Alberta is. They are scapegoats just like how Alberta is the go to scapegoat of the Feds.

Canadian industry emits 548 million tonnes of CO2. Canadian forests absorb 2.34 billion tonnes of CO2. If you add up all the other vegetation across the country there will be many more tonnes of CO2 being absorbed. Looks like Canada is better than net zero already. I have been in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years I got work in the US 6 years ago and would never consider working in Canada again, I will look for work overseas before I look for work in Canada again. There is no future in O&G sector in Canada. 2/3rds of Canadians vote in alignment with political parties that want to handicap the oil and gas sector, and that is where the root of the problem lies.
