Agree about leaving space to manoeuvre around counters.

Hi Hissy, just found your channel and subscribed! I've had this for a few months but after watching your video - I need to play this!! 👍😊

Hi Rough, welcome, I am glad you are here, thank you. It is a nice game if you don't mind using a deck of cards. Its heavy on the theater of the mind, but for the price, I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for a really thorough look through the book. I'm really surprised at so much detail. Lots of history too! And for me, thats all worth the $14 ticket! I'm always impressed by how much these clever people can squeeze into such a small publication. Swordfish? What's not to like 😊
@HissyCat2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Next I'll play an Advanced Historical Scenario with some of the optional rules and multiple Aircraft. Swordfish, I don't know why, but I really like that aircraft. =)

Picked this up immediately when I saw this video a few days back, thanks for the great overview and playthrough! I haven't considered many book games outside of 4-5 Mike Lambo books. This is such a fun game for it's size, simplicity, table space AND it's theme still comes through brilliantly imo. The fact it only uses a traditional set of 52 cards, a half-page of charts and a die translated to non-gamers having given it a shot and enjoyed it in my circle. Do you know of any other wargames or sports games that use a deck of 52 and dice but with a good tangible book of rules/theme like this one?

Hi Mr. Bassman, thank you for the visit. This game was a nice little surprise for me. I think you nailed it with you assessment. Minden publishes a few more game that I haven't played that might fit what you are looking for. Also i would recommended Worthington Press has a number a great book games, all you need is a dice and pencil, kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKKQiqZ6lKqsfJY as well as Historic Wings, kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnuuYX-Hr514aLM both available on Amazon.

What a great game. I need to pick it up and then McMurray and I will have to play the Taranto game using 1:6000 ships and 1:3000 or 1:2000 aircraft. Also, Pearl Harbor could use the same treatment.

Hi Not Jay, thanks for watching. It is a fun little game, would love to see it played with minis. =)

I printed them on the thickest car stocks I could get to go through my printer with color and then I took a sheet of one page laminate and just put that over the front of the counters to protect the ink color. Done. Cut n trim

Nice, I have been tempted but I would want a map to put them on. =)

@@HissyCat Do you have either iron ships & Iron Men or Trireme from Avalon Hill there's your blue hexagon water maps... Put the ship at one end and count off the different increments of hexes for each of the ranges and done. So those counters might be too big for the hexes...

I have had this for some time I'm playing a bunch of times never sunk anything got shot down a lot and it was fun. Someday when I quit buying games and miniatures I'm going to buy everything I need and I'm going to build myself a Taranto harbor with little ship models and little swordfish aka string bag aircraft and I'm going to reenact the raid on the harbor. Lots of idiots fail to take notice of this raid. more could have been done to protect Pearl.p
