This week’s episode of the Torq Moto Podcast Show, driven by Talon and Docbright, welcomes back Rob Andrews to continue his chat with hosts ‘Jeffro’ Perrett and Rob ‘DocWobs’ Walters about his motocross career as a World MX 500cc GP racer throughout the 1980s and his opinions on the current state of play in the sport of motocross.
After covering how it all started for Rob, his youth MX racing and into the early part of his adult racing, the trio discuss the latter part of his career in episode two and, most notably, how he purchased his own bike to race and represent Great Britain at the 1985 Motocross of Nations. Rob also discusses where he thinks the sport is right now and where he thinks it might go with the introduction of electric bikes. And, of course, the trio discusses Rob’s brilliant book ‘The Inside Line’, which documents his life as a GP privateer and factory racer during the 80s.

My first time watching a GP, 1993 foxhills. After the GP I was walking to the exit near the start area. And heard a bike on the track. I ran back over to watch. It was rob on Gregs bike. Great watching rob test. And then a couple of weeks later it was in DBR . Rob wasn't keen on albe's suspension if memory serves me right.

I saw Thorpe on Everts’ factory Kawasaki at fox hill in 94 after the GP, I think that he was testing it for DBR too.
