Had the same issues, double check the pulse/frequency ranges in the FBL unit. I had mine set too high on the freq side and the servo was really heating up. Lowered the freq a bit and solved the issue

I really wish you you get this solved and somebody can help you with ideas. So hot is very worrying. These two Nitros are really beautiful. I am a relative newbe ang flying electrics only, sorry! Good luck and better advise from others!

higher the gain setting the hotter the servo will get

also my endpoints are conservative, linkage is free, nothings binding.

Hmmm! Is it hard mounted or rubber mounted? I’ve run a lot of Torq servos and never had one get hot but I’ve heard of them getting hot and issues with nitros some times.

Check your bec voltage. I have same servo in three of my goblins and they are cool to touch after about five minutes flight.

thanks! this ones running straight 2 s receiver pack but I may throw a voltage regulator on it and see, but im gonna switch it out to be on the safe side

I never experienced a hot servo until last week on maiden flight of my M7. Theta Razor elevator servo, and only this servo. The servo was as hot as the motor. I was running the cyclics at 760, 200hz. I know the linkages are super tight, and I had to dial main gain way down because it was shivering- I’m going to reset the servos to 1500 and 140hz until the Heli gets broken-in before messing with the pulse width and freq again. Are your tail mechanics smooth on your Goblin? Now I can see why other servos have heat sinks carved into the casing

Thanks for the comments, I backed down to 333hz, no change but then I did dial back the gain and that helped a little. I pulled it and put a BK servo in. It is running cooler, but still pretty hot. no airflow to it, im considering getting the Dremel out and making some room around it. Good luck with that Theta, hopefully thats tight links and will ease up.

Yep, binding makes it warm/hot. Endpoints not good?

endpoints good, popped ball link off and everything moves freely. gonna fly it again tomorrow and take some temp readings off both helicopters tail servos.
