Great video guys!! A couple things I personally consider mandatory for my Torqeedos is to electrical tape the motor cable to the lift bar to ensure I never put tension on the cable or kink it at the motor. Secondly, when removing the prop before each trip I make sure the words “Torqeedo” on the prop is parallel to the ground. That will ensure the sheer pin is also parallel and won’t fall out and get lost or fall into the water which happened one day when I forget to check for line before a trip and decided to do it over the water then proceeded to drop the drive pin into the depths never to be seen again 😂

The batteries go bad after 5 years also. At least that's what a torqeedo safety rep has told me in a email. Just a heads up to torqeedo owners.

I’m having a hard time getting the prop off my Ultralight 403…just doesn’t want to come loose even once I’ve got the nut loosened. Do I just get mean with it and use some more force/smacks, or do you have any other suggestions for removing the prop itself? Thanks for your videos!

It’s likely that the drive pin is bent up in there with the backside of the prop chewed up from hitting something. Gently tap on the back of the prop blades, alternating sides. It will come off, but there will be damage. If you’re lucky it’s just pin damage. If you’re a little less lucky it’s pin and prop damage. If you’re totally unlucky, it’s drive shaft damage and needs to be sent in for service to have the drive shaft replaced.

It’s (I think) 4 yrs old anyhow, and I want to keep this motor functional as long as possible. Was a dream come true to win this thing a few years back at the KBF National Championship!
