LOL , I tuned that car nearly 20 years ago for MWS , looking at the graphs the fuel pump is at its limit , pretty common to see them do that. Fuel curve still looks good between 12 and 12.5 just like it was at the time until the pump runs out. They were a good combo on a stock motor , or with a mild crane 286 cam and a 355 stroker crank . Yeah fuel pump certainly wants looking at. Held pressure, but you can tell flow is tapped.

Cool vid, good to see the 5.0s. Rob has a beautiful couple of vs commys. I hope you had a few chats with him. If you're looking to update the fuel pump to make it easier I put a vu ute fuel tank in my vs ute. Opens up pump options way more and you dont got to remove the tank any more to change fuel pumps as the vu pump is in through the top of the tank. I did have to take a heat gun, dolly and hammer to parts of the tank and trim some edges off to make it fit. With your guys skills you would do it with ease. Vu -vy1 the gauge reads backwards vy2 fuel gauge sender reads the correct way.

After pulling the car off the dyno we probably hung around chatting with Jason and Rob for 2+ hours lol... and a cheeky sting in his turbo ute before making the 2 hour trip home lol. It was a late night. Thanks for the tip on the fuel tank! Something to look into 😉🤙🏻

The others need to take preference so they can go back home to their respective owners and give us some of our space back 😅 Unfortuntely any money spent on the ute only robs from the VH SL/E account... as you could imagine, this process has already done a bit of that lol.

Would be really interesting to see how it goes with a new ECU on board. The old Delco units are awesome but with the new tech and tuning capabilities now it would be a great comparison. Awesome to see its held the tune that well for that long.
@TorqHub11 ай бұрын
I think the Delco is still pretty capable for the combo seeing its still so basic. No boost control/traction control strategies etc. But I won't rule out an ECU change a long (LONG) way down the road 😅

Not bad at all. Honestly wouldn't fuck with it, its bullet proof reliable that you can enjoy at any time, why turn it into a potentially temperamental car. You'll have more than you can dream of that with the vh (sorry can't remember if vcbh, I'm a ford man lol) and I'm speaking from experience. 1 problem car is more than enough, a decent bullet proof supercharged v8 to muck around in when the problem child is acting up will be a god send than 2 friggin cars playing up.

Ah yeah rito. 308 304 Most successful AUSTRALIAN V8 in Motorsport history virtually bullet proof unless your a complete cock stick and have huge potential to make PLENTY of power. They were never meant to be making huge HP in stock form and fords offerings were no different. A stock 302 Windsor in the 90s was a gutless pos and even a 351 in an XC was a boat anchor gutless turd and nothing but a rod thrower.
