Torque converter failure - working vs non-working

This is showing the testing of a correctly working torque converter versus a non-working unit. The non-working one was brand new and was showing a P0742 code - TCC stuck off. To perform the test, the TC is pressurized with air as it normally would be with hydraulic fluid. The TC should lock up when pressure is applied. The correctly working one (Precision from TripleEdgePerformance) locks up, while the non-working one (ZZP unit) does not.

I believe you have a typo; TCC stuck off is a P0741. A P0742 code is for TCC stuck on.

I just had a similar problem. The new torque converter stator would turn both ways just like the old one..From what I read when you insert the oil pump splined hub shaft it should only spin one direction. Mine was spinning both ways on both the new converter and the broken one.

Hello, I own a Mercedes w212. I replaced the engine, but before I installed the transmission on the engine, I poured new oil into the torque converter nozzle, and I think I put a large amount, about one liter, in addition to what was inside. Zero I feel that the engine revs up a lot and the car has not started yet or it is taking off slowly. I face this problem only between the first and second gears, and the rear speed I feel the most. Is this because of the much oil that you added to the torque converter?

i have a po741 and a leak just got me a new torque converter so would yall say that would be the problem it also (slips) sometimes when taking off

If a torque converter is completely out will your truck move at all. I just had the transmission rebuilt. The only two things that weren't redone where the torque converter and the pump rebuilt.
