That part, "foot pounds typically that's associated with work if you see pounds times foot, or pounds times feet that usually indicates torque," now clearly explains the difference! People would say that a car has 100 foot pounds of torque instead of 100 pound feet of torque. 😀

in American terms, horsepower is how fast you can pull your trailer and torque is how fast you reach that speed...
