Perfect. This video and the one about obliques was the final push I needed to correct my form once and for all. Now I'm spiking it with exponentially more power than ever before and without exerting much effort! I can't thank you enough for all your detailed scientific explanations and your persistent uploads! Can't find anything like this anywhere else on the Internet!

Nice. @isaac, I notice that in the videos in which you focus on opening up the torso and arm position, you do not close the hip with the gluteus medius. Was it just cause you were focusing on torso and arm and you forgot? When we practice, should we always close the hip with the gluteus to make sure we increase the stretch?

Nice, i was struggling with the practice of that motion it’s help a lot. But just about the hips should they rotate with the core ? And am i supposed to feel exhaustion from the shoulder when i practice this motion ? Ty

Hey Hyuro, I just corrected my form for good this week with the answer to your hip question from watching another one of Isaac's videos, "Importance of Obliques". The hip has to stay facing forward (closed position) so that when you *twist* your core using your left oblique, you can literally feel a stretch from your hip to your upper body. It's with this twist where you get all the elastic force and spiking power that you don't even have to exert much strength in your shoulders to spike it really hard. Think of it as a twist, rather than a rotation and you'll really get the elastic power! So you're not supposed to feel exhaustion from the shoulder because all the power should be coming from your twisted torso. Here are the key points to make sure you're twisting the torso properly: 1. Keep hips facing forward 2. Use obliques to twist torso, don't just rotate your upper body without engaging the obliques. One thing that helps me is that I keep my non-spiking arm in the same position when I twist my torso, instead of rotating it together with my upper body. This helps to maintain balance and also keeps the scapularis muscle stretched across the upper body

@@invictuz4803 I'm glad that you managed to correct your form and I wanna do the same. I suffered a shoulder injury because I was putting too much strain on it during my spiking motion (which is of course incorrect) and now it hurts every time I try to do a spike. Can you send a video explaining the proper use of obliques and the torso position? It's kinda difficult for me to grasp. Also if you would like I could film myself doing the spiking motion and you could correct me, would help out a lot.
