FINALLY!!! I have been searching so hard to find this sound, and can’t wait to go to bed tonight. This pulled me back to the time when I was 6 y/o, the last family vacation before my 8 y/o sister was killed in an accidental shooting. Back in 1967 we had a REAL canvas tent and floor covering. My dad sat with us around the fire, while mom prepared the sleeping bags after our dinner of Dinty Moore stew and biscuits. This video brought back the smell of the canvas, the butter dripping off the biscuits, the steaming hot stew, and the smell of the air when we were all tucked in and the rain began to fall. 🙏🏻 Thank you for bringing tears to my eyes, and plenty of memories to think of as I drift off to sleep. Bless all of you that are reading this, and remember to live IN and cherish the moment. Life is short… make it beautiful. ❤️

@@siriete You asked, so here it is. My parents rented a farmhouse in 1966, in a very rural Illinois town. We were surrounded by corn fields, cows, pastures and corn cribs and silo’s full of soy beans that we loved to play in. We had the most wonderful childhood. Dad was a private pilot and was only home on weekends. My brother, being a typical curious 12 year old boy, searched for and found, the hidden key to the gun safe. He retrieved a 22 rifle and began target shooting out of an upstairs bedroom window, into the barn at what he described as pigeons. Our sister had climbed out the window onto the sloped roof, to collect the spent shell casings. He cocked the gun and it fired, hitting her in the heart. Ballistics would later confirm that when the gun was tested, it would fire by cocking, without pulling the trigger. But that was no consolation to my parents OR my brother. He became an alcoholic by age 17, and passed away a few years ago at age 61. His tortured soul was finally at rest. There’s the story. Told it many times, in therapy sessions over the years and have only recently been able to comprehend the devastation to our family, and begin to let go of the thought’s about who she might have become, had she not died on that tragic day.

I lived mostly alone in a western mountainous area that was a wilderness area for about 9 1/2 years. I once had someone ask me if I had ever got lost and was afraid. I told them that you can only be lost if you care where you are. These days you will run across a trail or dirt road before too long. The trick is to relax and just go with it and enjoy the experience of today. Tomorrow will take care of itself. When alone, the most important thing is to not get hurt. Great rain on canvas video, very accurate, from a guy who spent many a rainstorm under a canvas tarp.

I can't decide what I like better, rain on tent or rain on car. This one almost makes me prefer rain on tent. Not only is the rainfall near perfect, the view and setting are even better. The blue hue darkness, the trees - it certainly adds to the atmosphere which is also a bit creepy but on a good way. Excellent job, added to my playlist.

I wish I was in that tent with a fly net some insect couldn’t fly in. Then lay on two king covers and with my dog and use a 3nd cover myself and my dog as we listen to the rain as I fall asleep I would cuddle my dog and we both sleep happily

Is this a primal mechanism? The overwhelming result of bliss and comfort when listening to rain when trying to sleep? It's sooo, effective. It makes me think that there may be a primal mechanism involved. When pondering the connection, I think of a possibility that predators of humans might be swayed from hunting you while it's raining. That's what I think is the case. It's a short of evolved form of safety. Or maybe it's a form of "grounding" where you feel more connected with mother nature, which would be the most accustomed environment when you think of the entire span of time humans have evolved within nature. It would almost be like home to us.
