We headed towards the Canchal del Turmal, and then towards the Portilla de Talamanca, which is where the greatest technical complication is, not counting the Devil's Pass, but in no case did it seem complicated or compromised for us in dry, normal conditions and with experience .
From here we go to the Torreón, Calvitero, we went to the chain pass, the devil's pass, they have drilled the rock putting steps with fine jumbo, something recently assembled had dust and we collected a resin cannula from the area they had forgotten, After eating at the top in the shade, it was very hot and the stones on which you sat were burning, an unequivocal sign that the temperature of the sun and the environment was high.
Then in the direction of La Ceja, then we go down in search of the descent path towards Laguna del Trampal. We do not use the usual path, we shorten it a bit and we hitch the path a little further down.
In the first lagoon we stopped and refreshed ourselves a lot, then we went along the course of the lagoon towards the next one in search of some source or something, but we didn't find anything, from here we went towards the big lagoon, the one with the retention wall, we went to the left and we pass over the wall to go down to the right of the drain and river.
We thought that the descent of the Laguna del Trampal would be more evident and busy, but it was not like that, there were two options that we saw from one bank or another of the river, we do not know which would be the most common, none of them seemed the best option. we were alternating and watching to go where it seemed best to us and some section seemed the most obvious and comfortable.
Quite a demanding route, we went on a day with a heat wave and it was hard, a very hot day we had a bit of a bad time at the end because we had just enough water and we all came out well equipped, but there is no source unless we saw it in the last part, although you can always use a purifier for the water from the trapal lagoons because in the upper part there were cattle and that issue is delicate.
We did not want to risk it because we forgot there was no source to make it drinkable, some soaking in the lagoons and rivers to cool off was good for us.
Terrain with some hard stretch, complicated by vegetation, brooms, quite a lot of stones and other terrain typical of these routes in the Sierra de Gredos and Ávila, little traveled and trodden with lost areas that you have to be very careful, we had a great time , but keep these details in mind before tackling the route.
