I tried that DOHC and screwed something up, got 252 miles, then knock, knock. SOHC going in next. It the many years of me to get my westy ready, I found a synrco. Solid, and hate to cut it but a logical guy said, take it to make a synrco westy -- how many can you drive at once ? IDK Came here looking for wisdom and mad skills.

Hi Mark. I know you've probably plated the front subframe mount sections but just to say the original radius arm mount crossmember was the right width and thickness plate to upcycle for this section, and would've been free :)

Yep I saw you mention that in your build thread on 8090, thinking back I couldn't be bothered to cut them out and ordered those up, lazy I know :-). As far as the conversion is concerned it's all finished now and up and running.

Great news! Where in the country are you?

Hi Mark, you did not add the syncro reinforcement into the framerails where the subframe mounts to, right? Did you have any problems with that part not being reinforced?

Hi, no problems at all. It is worth remembering that there is already reinforcement in there already from the 2wd front radius arm mount left in after cutting off the bracket. From what I remember, that was fairly substantial in itself and the syncro reinforcement is basically just a U-shaped section welded in. I did think hard about it, but I had followed several other builds before doing mine, and I followed their methods. Hope that helps, Cheers.

@@MarkHalligan Thank you very much! Then I will do it the same way. Kind of scared and excited about the whole project :D
