@@finnanderson9941 If this blows your mind, you simply aren't a slam / brutal death metal listener. I love the Torture LP, but creatively, it is old and non-innovative. The drumming is creative at times and the production is clean, but its all old ideas bands have been doing for 20-30 years. I'm glad Torture will bring this style to new listeners who aren't familiar with it, because slam/bdm needs a rebrand to have any hope of being popular outside of its microniche. I'm being an asshole and my point is that if you listened to the genre, you'd realize this is incredibly easy to write. Still cool music.

I do love the torture record but I’d say something like “Disintegration of Thought Patterns During A Synthetic Mind Traveling Bliss” by dripping or something like that comes to mind when I’m thinking of Avant garde slam stuff. There’s probably much weirder stuff than anything I could bring to the table. I’m just happy a record like this will expose people to slam.
