It replaced a lexus which i couldn't do 6 hours in that without my legs falling asleep.. the SantaFe's seats are way more comfortable for tall drivers, that said the calligraphy's seats aren't as comfortable as the limited's.

I regularly drive long distances like Brisbane to Townsville or Charters Towers or Sydney (not so far) straight through. By the way .. I am 63 so I am surprised a young bloke like yourself does not find it easier. Its not difficult to do when you develop a rhythm to your driving. Biggest fatigue bringer is noise so I tend to keep stereos off or very low, and use noise cancelling ear phones just for that. No piped audio. Regular stops for coffee and plenty of water. Good food rather than snacks to help stay away from the sugar hit and subsequent crash after. I like the headlights on the Santa Fe. They help because I also like to do as much of my trips at night as I can. Anyway .. interesting to see how the car coped with the run. Not sure its my cup of tea though.

I'm about to pull the trigger on an order for a Calligraphy trim powder blue hybrid - I do a lot of long distance driving, including Italy to/from UK a few times a year, at a distance of around 1400km each way, which I try to do in 16-18 hours. It can be a bit insane to do, but having a comfortable car in which to do it, with a good sound system, should make all the difference. I hope I can live with the safety features' bings and bongs, but like you said, for NCAP 5 these are a requirement, so other manufacturers will also have similar. The question is, how many of these features can be turned off to avoid annoyance?

once you have a car with weight of 2075 kg it will consume much more fuel. That's not a small car. For instance, I have Santa Fe 2015, 3.3L. Usually in ECO mode it is 8.6L, if you press accelerator slightly more - 10L out of town.

@invisiblealex0076 ай бұрын
@Sajith050683 I am sure pretty close. What a hybrid is? It is efficient at shotr distance. In this cace we gave combination electric and gas ⛽️ and consumption is in the middle. Once our range is much more than 200 km or 400, there is no difference from the regular combustion engine, and you can neglect hybrid efficiency. Long trips become regular fuel consumption, Once you drain a battery, there will not be a miracle

It seems a bit too thirsty on highway for long trips where people easily do 1000 - 1200 ks in Australia on a single one way trip : EG Syd to Sunshine Coast QLD or Sydney to Melbourne. Surprised to see fuel burn is still on the high side for this 2024 hybrid tech . Because a 2.5 tone diesel suv with no hybrid 6 cylinder can achieve better fuel burn around 6.5 litres per 100Ks open road. Shouldn't this new Hyundai be around 4 to 5 .5 litres per 100 ks for a hybrid on the open road ? Why is fuel burn so high on this Hyundai Santa Fe ? We can see it was pushing nearer to 8 litres per 100Ks on your highway trip , so were you going over 110ks per hour for some or most of the high way driving , thus the little turbo petrol engine was working harder ?
