I’ve just bought one did my first mow today and love it. It’s not just the about the cost it’s about the time saved. It does not need line of sight as others have said. The RTK was poorly positioned to start with. It needs a clear view of the sky for the satellites.

Thank you so much for showing the extensive set up process... Not a deal breaker but good to know what one is in for. No one else shows this.

Honesty is important. It will suit some people.

My RTK is solid blue with issue positioning although it is reading 29 satellites and Mammotion cannot even rectify this problem after 2 weeks, and does not warranty their product and says it is 2 years - BS. This firm should be investigated for non-compliance of their claims and I even believe Amazon has dumped them. We were FOOLS to believe in their hype and it is sad that so many on You Tube still promulgate this firm which in IMHO is selling crap with no service or integrity.

Given the vagaries of wireless technology in this application, and the initial setup and cost, I’ll stick with the ride on.

Just a wee point. Don't bother with the little booklet with the mower. Download the proper 76 page instruction manual. I was taught to RTFM first as it can save a lot of heartache :). Ask how I know... Yep, didn't upgrade the firmware of the RTK aerial first so had to do two upgrades of the Luba 2, which is probably what happened with Tim. I had a demo done before buying where an area behind my large metal shed was mowed, and the RTK aerial was just stuck in the ground on the other side of the shed! That sealed the decision for me. The test by Tim seems that it may have been done with default speed and cutting width - very slow, and not the full cut width, so hence the time taken.

Its not a router. Its a RTK station that receives the GPS signals and relays it to the mover.

A 5 grand ride-on mower will easily last 10 years if looked after and maintained. I very much doubt these toys will last 5, at most. I'd rather get a mower man to do the job, $5000 should cover him for a few years.

Good morning, Tim great review, I am running out today to buy one, NOT, Cheers

You're kidding... It needs line of sight to the aerial? So it won't mow around the back of a house? Sigh.

Yep if that’s true - then it’s a deal breaker for me Dear mower people - most of us have a front yard, and back yard. Some even have a side yard 😮😮

He is wrong on that point. It connect by radio signal, and can work with a building between the antenna and the robot. No need for a line of sight. Edit : the line of sight is needed towards the GPS satellites, the antenna needs to see as much sky as possible, like any GPS.

Luba 2 does not require direct line of sight. It has a 900mhz radio signal that can work up to 200mt from the rtk antenna. Luba 2 also has a function coming soon that allows it to work up to 3km for the antenna.
@MrWarp9115 ай бұрын
It has nothing to do with line of sight to the antenna. I bet this dude has poor WiFi coverage in the problem areas which is not a Luba problem.

No, this is not true. He should have tried that "dead zone." Because moving the RTK receiver higher makes a huge difference. And yes, that's an RTK receiver, not a wifi router. It might struggle with certain buildings, but the 900Mhz signal from the RTK receiver getting to the mower is not that hard and can go through many walls. You don't need a direct line of sight unless the building is very tall and very think construction. Please don't base your decision on one youtube review. I will tell you that customer service is lacking. And I will also say that with tight areas and hills, the algorithm they use to maneuver when turning around for the next pass can be annoying, and even with the omni wheels, it can dig up some weak turf. At least it does for me in the Luba 1 3000. I still think mammotion is one of the best of what's available right now. If you have the money, I recommend Yarbo. Mine is coming in October. But Luba is still nice. I just wish mammotion would better get customer service and fix little things they should have fixed a while ago.
