Such a terrific routine! Music interpreted so well! Although Christopher Dean possibly best male ice dancer of all time and a creative genius, I can't help but think what an amazing skater/ice dancer Jayne is. Her edging, energy, interpretation. With Chris's choreography, much is asked of her and she succeeds every time. Very few ice dancing couples if any can compare to Torvill and Dean!

I love the gag and I love love the way they dance to the swing beat - that throw away motion. Wonderful interpretation of this piece of music.

I don't think I've ever seen this before, it's fantastic. Their symmetry is perfect, as always, and it's lovely to see them having fun. If you want to see more like this take a look at their pro dance routines from after they retired from the Euro/World/Olympics for the second time, then you'll really see how they wanted to be on the ice without all the rules and regulations. Have a look at Robin Cousins' performances too. Fantastic.

I could watch them loop over loop. Over and over again. You know that they are PROFESSIONAL SKATERS/PERFORMERS because they make it look so easy that one would believe that they could do the same and that it's easy. But as always, they practice for hours and hours UNTIL IT'S PERFECT. I'D LOVE SO MUCH TO SEE THEM LIVE ONE DAY. I used to figure skate, got into it late at 35 when I convinced the local figure skating club (Cornwall Figure Skating Club, Cornwall, Ontario, Canada) to give some adults lessons. I got into pairs dancing eventually. This was even after a ACL (L) repair 2X. But now it's even more difficult since that knee required a total knee replacement. And injured my back with 3 compressed lumbar vertebraes, spondylosis grades 1 and 2, and sciatica. Man, I'm still thinking of going back on the ice if just to skate round and round but I know that I'll want so badly to do jumps. Oh, well. It's wonderful to watch them. God bless them both.

LOVE THEM... and Chris still has a great butt...😷🤣

Torvill and Dean could do it all from rock n roll: At The Hop, to Jazz: Summertime - Porgy and Bess, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers classics to fast moves: Cecilia, to sheer artistry : Bolero, Shepherd's Song, Song of India. If they were born in today's generation of Ice Dancers such as Virtue & Moir or Davis & White, I have no doubt they would give them a run for their money! I think Virtue & Moir did the Ice Hockey skit at one of their Olympic Galas.

@anncarothers44812 жыл бұрын
Take Five. Composed by Spaxophonist Paul Desmond, member of Dave Brubeck quartet. That's Paul on Sax. 5/4 time. Quarter note gets one count. (Over the edge.) ♥️🎶⛸💕

Did either of them ever have children? And if so, It would be great if their kids carried on their parents genius on the ice
@maryleone20232 жыл бұрын
Christopher Dean has two sons with his ex wife Jill Trenary, a US Olympic skater. They do not skate competitively. Isn't that odd, having two Olympic Ice Skaters for parents. Jayne Torvill adopted a son and a daughter with her non-skater husband. They do not skate competitively either. I don't think any of the children skate professionally either. What a pity!
@davidedwards33613 жыл бұрын
Choreography for Bolero would have been easy with it's regulat time, but Take 5 with 5 beats to the bar...that would take skill AND courage to try it.

Right. 5 beats to the bar. Quarter note gets one beat. Composed by saxophonist Paul Desmond. Dave Brubeck quartet. Musically a fascinating challenge. Interpreted by Torvill and Dean, beyond exquisite⛸♥️👍
