Thank you so much for the great video! I had to do a deep clean of the fans myself because I got it from someone. It was filled with dust and dirt, so hopefully now it will work almost like a new one.

Great video, pleasant voice and narrative! Great to see that just by cleaning the gpu and applying new thermal past and replacing thermal paste you've achieved around 5°C cooler temperature

You should try using phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs in my experience works better than traditional pastes, and instead of thermal pads give thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro. It is also good to do undervolting.

Yo I just did this with the 1070 in my gfs PC. Awesome! dropped 5 degrees but more importantly in the AUTO fan mode we dropped from 60% to 52% with 20 minute stress test when the cooler is saturated. Less noise from my gfs PC

Hey thanks. I re-gooped my chip and I am idling around 35-40, I only played TF2 on it but it only hit around 51.

Thanks for making this video. I've had mine since 2016 and haven't replaced the thermal paste yet. Would you mind posting links for the pads that you used. I would also like to find a single use thermal paste clean/replacement kit because I don't need everything in the tube for a one-time job. Also, I would like to disconnect the LED lighting if I do this. Not sure if that's possible with the wiring configuration....

I do recommend getting one small tube of paste as you might make a mistake with only one time use ones, even professionals do. Even if you use a small amount from the tube you can save it for later and it does not expire really.. I used 2 small ones from Artic MX series, they are reliable. For the thermal pads I just went with a generic one but the name for that is Aairhut 1mm and 1.5mm Also, for the LED's I'm pretty sure you can turn it off via bios or a software?

@@TechGadgetsMedia Yeah I would prefer to control it with the drivers but that doesn't appear to be an option in Windows 10.

There is a software called Aura for this GPU, that should do the trick.

Me watching this because my gpu is constantly at 95 Celsius and causing it to lose its core clock. Do you think i could buy a set of screws from amazon and thermal paste to fix it and help it keep cool?

Why do you need a set of screws? Do you mean screwdriver?

@@TechGadgetsMedia No the previous owner of card took it apart to paint it white and lost 1 of the heatsink screws and like 4-5 of the shroud screws.
@TechGadgetsMedia
@TechGadgetsMedia Жыл бұрын
Oh wow.. in that case yeah, you should get that sorted. You need to screw everything down so that the heatsink has a good contact with the processing unit.
