14 years ago, I listened to this song for the first time and i was addicted to it. I was doing Bachelors- second year. My first love was still young- only 1.5 years old. I was living in a hostel at my university, with greenery all around, amazing friends who were also growing up with me through those late teenage years to early 20’s. You attend classes, come back to the hostel, turn on the radio, keep doing your regular chores, but keep waiting for this song to play. This song would play a few times throughout the day and i would still wait for the next time. Beautiful time it was! Cut to 2021, i am married to the same guy, my love❤️. Right now, sitting on a couch in another country, beautiful sun outside. No radio or my hostel friends (miss them), listening to this song, enjoying all the beautiful memories of that time. Believe me, this song is still as magical as it was 14 years ago. The only difference is now i have the resources to play it again n again at the press of a button when i want to. This song is ‘Javeda’- everlasting.

I read somewhere that Mithoon composed this when he was 23yo. How is that possible? The music way beyond the maturity of the chronological age. This is a masterpiece like nothing else out there. Shilpa Rao and Kshitij's voice, the melody. When I heard for the first time in 2012, it felt fresh. Today in 2022, it still has the same freshness. For both the singers, it was their debut song. Neither of them could have asked for a better timeless debut. Mithoon is an underrated genius.
