Love how your guest’s stories intersect and overlap. Getting cool individual POVs on events. Great that Toshi clarified the mystery.

It’s messed up what happened to Toshi. Been following him for a long time, and was wondering why he disappeared for those three years. Glad that he’s back in the drifting scene and bouncing back from the situation!

@@aftrnoon.ac326 why did you think i asked? tl;dr for anyone else, he was wrongfully arrested and imprisoned for three years due to a drug-related incident involving a former employee. He was accused of being the mastermind behind the operation, a charge that carried a potential sentence of 6-10 years. Despite maintaining his innocence, the Japanese justice system, with its 99% conviction rate, initially found him guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison. After his release on bail, he faced social stigma and difficulties in rebuilding his life and business. However, he remained determined to clear his name and continued to fight his case. Eventually, after three years of legal battles, his conviction was overturned, and he was found not guilty.

toshi is a good dude and great driving inspiration for anyone getting into "kansai" style driving. thanks for dropping the episode man
@GoodestcastАй бұрын
Of course. It’s a wild ride for sure.
@DondriftsАй бұрын
What does kansai means? Besides the wheel company? 😅
@seattimeheroesАй бұрын
@@Dondrifts it’s a region in Japan. It’s where this style of drifting with a snappy entry like you see on meihan videos got popular and practiced. It’s like saying “southern style” of anything that originates or is practiced in the south
@GoodestcastАй бұрын
@@Dondrifts the wheel company is Kansei pronounced kan-say, which is a different word with different meaning. Kansai is a region of Japan where Meihan Sportsland is and a bunch or legendary drivers.
