I do enjoy other RTS games, but SC2 remains to be peak. That game demands such a high control in micro and macro and the fact that they managed to match that with such smooth control options in hotkeys´n shit, is insane. There is just so much flawless detail in how that game works, it´s truely a masterpiece! Its sad that most studios nowadays get rushed that quality control is lacking a lot. Tempest Rising looks promising as a CnC replacement for sure, i just hope the third race is something exotic like Scrin in Kanes Wrath. I also heared rumors that there might be a new Dawn of War game on the horizon, which i can´t wait to see. Fingers corssed!

Btw Warcraft II had good graphics, and nice art, not super-pixelated as in WC I. WC 2 is more like Starcraft - fast bloody battles, unit micro is super important etc. Too bad it had never some extension beyond existing content

Warcraft 2 was quite nice and its closer to starcraft than it is to warcraft 3, the issue is the horrendous way to meet up with other players. Proper matchmaking tools began with starcraft.

what I dont like in this game is how you get expansion radius mainly through capturing neutral buildings. Makes all the mechanics the factions have meaningless

I build salvage trucks and get the 3rd doctrine in the left tree. This way you can deploy salvage centre from the truck and build something you want. Then un-deploy into the truck and repeat for next expansion sector

GDF supply beacon and comms vehicle with doctrine upgrade. Dynasty salvage truck. An here you have your expansions.

Nah if you didn't use it then that is generic rts. Cnc are known with this thing. If you understand how to use then this fun for sure. This better than warcraft hirable creeps.
