@@cesarivan7272 that's a lie. The weights are obviously fake. Not only is it obvious how he moves with it and how the bar reacts, that's not 240 kg. But he was a few years out of retirement and he supposedly squatted 240 kg, not once. But 23 times?? Gimme a break. Anyone who's followed atg or any other wl channel for a while and has seen 220kg+ squats like 2000 times can watch the video of Tom Platz and immediately tell that the weights are fake. His spotter has even recently said they were fake. Tom Platz simply wanted to feel relevant again. Such an embarrassment....

Juicing!!! Does anybody seriously think that these top athletes aren't juicing in se way? I have trained hard my whole life from being small. I was competing at regional level until 17 and then suddenly loads of athletes mysteriously got waay better than others??? Hmm what do you think was going on there!! I was beating most of them until that age and then some get way way stronger and faster? Either they all have genetic disorders which make them produce super levels of androgens or their juicing because I'm in the high range for a natural male.
@dtosmanm47432 жыл бұрын
@@robertowen8281 You people are so boring with the juice aspect. Nobody cares about the juice, it's obivous that they are on. Still a fraction of guys will squat that many reps with that weight with juice, it's genetics.

@garymeaney602 жыл бұрын
He's vertical because it's heel-elevated, high bar, and he has very short femurs relative to his torso, it's not really a matter of deliberate technique. It is physically impossible for the average person to be so upright in the hole, with or without weight. The bending forward with heavy weight you're talking about is an issue of the hips shooting up during the concentric to transfer more load to the hip extensors. Toshiki actually has more of this hip movement than would be considered textbook, it's just hard to see because of his leverages. Not saying he uses "bad" form of course, he is an elite strength athlete after all. However, it's worth noting that, due to their anthropometry, some people have no choice but to have a high degree of torso lean during squats, by no fault of their own.
@TheAbckill182 жыл бұрын
@@garymeaney60 you obviously know your stuff. Impressive. The short femur does indeed explain the form if you try to look at it in a mechanical perspective. Loads of leverage 🙂

This is what high reps training looks like. It requires great technique, cardio and fortitude to get the most out of. And people say it's safer for the joints? 200kg will mess someone up about just as badly as 250kg if form slips. And form is far more likely to slip due to fatigue. Leave super high rep work to advanced folks.
@generalh10442 жыл бұрын
high rep training is much safer for the joints. moving the joints through the range of motion 5 times does a lot less than moving through it 25 times. you're thinking of injury risk due to lifter error, not injuries based on joint weakness
@phlemrazzes77042 жыл бұрын
@@generalh1044then it should be the opposite no? I d expect overuse injuries to be more frequent with high rep than low rep. This is my experience too.
@garymeaney602 жыл бұрын
@@phlemrazzes7704 For joints, stress is mainly correlated with absolute load. During this set, they're only experiencing the same force of 200kg 26 times; it does not magnify after each rep. The muscles give out because they have to expend energy to move the joints, but the joints themselves don't burn out like this. So, Toshiki's 1RM of 321 kg puts a lot more stress on the joints than any amount of reps with 200kg
