閉塞感が否めないこの時代、心を解き放つ見晴らしの良い大地を目指そう！新しい時代を柔らかく生きよう！という思いをBoogieのビートに乗せて歌いました。CMの「地球まるごとステージだ」というフレーズが大好きです。
「空の詩」
コロナ禍、夏を待つ頃、自粛生活を送りながら人間、世の中、自分自身をもう一度見つめ直しながら書き綴った言葉たちです。それを曲にしました。今歌いたい。今聴いてほしい。

粋な大人の空間であるブルーノートには客として数えきれないほど足を運びましたが、この度初めてステージに上がります。去年から決まっていたのですが意図せぬ状況に悩まされたものの、安心安全を一番に考慮し予定通り行うことにいたしました。
“Funky”でおなじみの僕ですが、ブルーノートでは「Bossa & Lovers Rock Night」をテーマに、やさしく柔らかな6日間だけのスペシャルナイト。お客さんとお互いに癒しあいたいです。

◇About “Boogie Ride”:
In this time when we can't avoid feeling depressed, let us aim for an open field where we may unleash our hearts. Let us live in this new era flexibly. I put these thoughts into words and sang along with Boogie’s groove.
◇About “Sora no Uta”:
In 2020, we have been suffering from the coronavirus. During the quarantine period people had been waiting for summer, and I wrote this song while looking back at myself and the world. I would like to sing this song to you all now, and hope you can listen to it now.
Toshinobu Kubota
In 1985, Toshi wrote songs to the chart topping pop singers and made his record debut the following year from Sony Music with so much hype. With his unique music style, sophisticated song writing, incomparable vocal skills and groove conscious rhythmic approach, Toshi won over his audience and become a household name overnight.
After releasing several platinum albums, Toshi moved to NYC in 1993 and released three English albums from Columbia and Epic Records. His songs were played on mainstream American radio stations and his music videos were aired on popular video channels like MTV and BET as heavy rotation. He was also featured as the first Japanese singer to perform at the legendary “Soul Train”.
For almost 35 years, Toshi stays true to his music and he is called the pioneer of Japanese R&B. His self-produced live show is also dazzling and his latest national tour titled “Beautiful People Tour” launched prior to COVID in October 2019 and he is going to complete all 39 shows with 4 remaining rescheduled dates in spring 2021. In the meanwhile, Toshi will come on the super intimate stage at Blue Note Tokyo for 6 nights and perform 12 shows in November 2020.
As a song writer and producer, Toshi has written number of hit theme songs for movies and TV dramas as well as commercials, sporting events and etc.. Toshi understands what songs need and he is the master of these balancing acts. Up to now, Toshi released 18x original Japanese albums, 3x US (English) albums and 6x best hit compilation albums. All of his musical work remains universal, stays current and certainly answers to his fan’s expectations. His recent international collaborations include with his longtime friends, Daniel Jobim for “Corcovado” in 2013 and Music Soulchild for “SUKIYAKI” in 2016.
And finally, all of his music catalogues have become available on music streaming/subscription services worldwide this fall and dominating the music charts. He has also released the latest digital single, “Boogie Ride” and “Sora-no Uta (Song of Sky)” on October 16th, 2020.
