I am drawn into this space and sound that only he can produce. Thank you for the wonderful performance.

4:54 - So chilling... gets me every time. I love hearing Christ's name declared in this way.

This is intensely lyrical and emotive / expressive. Lovely. This choral ensemble are giving a remarkable performance, too. To me, a 'new' composer. Thanks so much.

this composer is a stunning discovery for me. A mystical combination of Eastern and Western thought and creativity.

first time listening to this... there's some wonderfully suprising counterpoint going on here. It's unpredictable as a first time listener, and i LOOOVE those dissonances. Will have to check out more of Toshio Hosokawa's works.

You should read Umberto Eco's 'On Ugliness'. It will blow your mind. Then listen to this again.

Toshio Hosokawa captured a great picture of Yahwism in this music; realm os Astral (Fog, shadows) or literally a Hell; before it became a "heaven...

All talking about "Biblically accurate angels" aside. I want you to remember: God is scary. We can't even imagine His Power with our little puny brains. I'm a Minister, and every time I think about the glory of the Lord, I get a migraine. That being said, if we go back to the "Biblically accurate angels", I imagine they sound something like this.

I Wouldn't call you " Old fashioned", it's too fancy for someone of your kind. I would call you "Closed minded", you are closed minded.

It kind of sounds like people pretending to be ghosts. I have to go with Shubert on this one.

You may call me old-fashioned, however I do not like this particular interpretation of Ave Maria. I consider music only the things that are pleasent to listen, and this thing isn't pleasant at all. But that's just my opinion. The singers are doing a brilliant work, if you look from professional view and it needs high level of shill to execute this.

Moreover, pleasure isn't the only sentiment to exist. There are a lot of them, like Happiness, Sadness, Disgust, Discomfort, Charmolype, Wrath and the list goes on. If the music, or the arts, were to describe only what's pleasing... well... I can't think of something more limiting/-ed than that. Just listen to some old operas, especially Monteverdi; the composers do try to incur a variety of feelings.
