Howdy from a little over 7000 miles east of Gulf Shores. I heard you puffin’ a bit so I thought I would share that with my Hobie Pro Angler 14 I found that, when I put the dolly in the scuppers directly below the seat, the yak is slightly rear-heavy. This allows me to push down on the front handle and push the yak backwards to the beach in front of my house. I can (and do) push the kayak with one hand on the paved area and also across the very loose beach sand. When I get to the water’s edge I swing the kayak around, remove the wheels and invert through the scuppers behind the seat and paddle off by hand until deep enough to deploy the Advantage drive system. Moving the dolly and pushing the yak was a huge game changer for me and makes the prep and post work much more enjoyable. Thanks for the video!

Good trips-but a kayak on the Gulf? Yeah, I know, you kayakers can pretty much get anywhere. In Panama City Beach area, know a retired guy from Montana that peddles 4.7 miles out everyday the seas are 3' or less, I won't usually take the bay boat out in that but swap for one of the others. Ever scrape the pilings? I've a scraper in each boat, and friends on kayaks keep a hatchet for that chumming. Sheepshead get into a frenzy after that. Keep em coming, but I've also a lot of catching up to do on your channel.
@BamaSaltwater2 жыл бұрын
I love scraping the pilings for sheepshead fishing when I don’t forget my scraper 😂😂

Surprised to hear you took a kayak out Lagoon Pass. That current is treacherous. In the 80’s, with the old, more narrow pass, I used to slip out in the Gulf in a 15’ ski boat. That was sketchy then especially on an outgoing tide. Love to fish that Pass but it can be dangerous for sure.
