It is bizarre that they took the effort to cast a voice actor who is also an extraordinary singer, but not use her singing talent for the movie. No disrespect to Ado - her singing is also brilliant - yet seems strange not to use AmaLee's singing to at least create a better sense of continuity in the dub.

Oh yeeeaaah the first time Tot Musica was only stopped because Uta exhausted herself so it was more of a “who’ll outlast the other” battle but this time around Shanks and the rest could fight that demon king the correct way which was from both sides

I still can't get over the fact they went and cast a singer with an AMAZING voice for Uta, and they didn't have her sing. Like, whats the point in hiring her then? You could have hired literally anyone so why go through the trouble of hiring a vocalist if you aren't gonna even use her? The only way we would have been able to hear her sing as her character is by her doing that job herself, which makes it worse since we can hear how much she wouldve killed it in the movie with how good this hits.

@@Violet___girl ? But we’re not. It’s just weird to go and get another famous singer to voice a pop star, and not use her. And they do have the translated version. They made it for the subtitles. Why is it disrespectful to Ado? Because we wanted to hear an equally good singer do it, just in English since it was in English anyway? Wouldn’t it be disrespectful too to have an English version at all when she’s already good at that as well? The words of the song are pretty important for the story, but I can’t read it as she sings. Even if I tried, I’d be missing the amazing animations. Isn’t it disrespectful to Amalee to hire her for a job where you’re an amazing singer, but be told they don’t want you to sing for her because Ado singing it is better? There nothing wrong with Ado singing it. She sings great. Totally not the point though. Sorry my dyslexia keeps me from enjoying a song in a movie I’m watching in theaters.

I think Tot Musica was a force of nature, somewhat like the Ancient Weapons, which aren't inherently evil, but are inherently destructive (at least Pluton and Uranus are). Although, if not evil, Tot Musica was vengeful, as it obliterated Elegia in retaliation for being imprisoned by long dead ancestors of the kingdom.

I think it had to with licensing. Either Ado was super expensive that Funimation didn't want to pay Amalee more, or there was a clause that said Ado could not be dubbed. Fire Emblem Fates had VALSHE, an Utaite that went pro like Ado years before her, and as a result it didn't have Japanese dub like it's predecessor and successor.

Here's the thing this movie wasn't done by Funi they were absorbed into Crunchyroll by this point and if that clause was a thing then it had to have only applied to English as other dubs had songs Dubbed it seems like a waste to hire a VA who's made her name making English covers of anime songs for YEARS and NOT have her sing at that point they could've hired ANYONE if they were just using Ados singing WHY hire a VA who can SING AND NOT HAVE HER SING

It’s funny they take a time and effort to hire an American voice actor for the diversion. She’s also brilliant at singing. In fact, this is her song that she saw what she gave to the directors, but they use the Japanese song for some odd reason. Give me wrong here. Ado is it extremely good singer like I love her music but it’s English it should be the actual English voice actor who sings it because she can sing so I actually thought they actually used it but then I realized the video editing the song just put over the actual movie so
