Ma'am, can you tell me that in Auto TAN or TBN if we take Normality of KoH or HClo4 then what should be the difference between 1st and 2nd reading ??

Ma'am what is the impact if TBN is too high ??
@drartijainchemistryclasses2714 Жыл бұрын
Generally, oils with a higher TBN better neutralize acidic materials and combustion by-products resulting in longer oil life and improved protection against corrosion.

How much titration solvent must we add to the sample?
@drartijainchemistryclasses2714Ай бұрын
In 20 gram of oil sample for light colour and 2 gm sample for dark colour oil add 100ml of titration solvent and 30 drops of indicator is taken,swirl carefully until the sample is completely dissolved.

hi mam.. 1.can we use perchloric acid instead of hcl in titration for TBN? 2.can we use chlorobenzene instead of toluene for solvent? 3.can we use propane 2 ol instead of IPA?
@drartijainchemistryclasses27142 жыл бұрын
Perchloric acid is attracted to water and disassociates readily to yield the perchlorate anion. The toxicity of perchloric acid comes from the toxicity of the perchlorate anion. The potential danger of working with perchloric acid is sadly illustrated in a workplace tragedy that' s why its not safe.
@drartijainchemistryclasses27142 жыл бұрын
You should consider two aspects one is the reaction temperature and polarity. Chlorobenzene is more polar having b.p.grater than toluene. However toluene is good as compared to chloro benzene which you can use

difference between 1-propanol and 2-propanol (also known as isopropanol or rubbing alcohol). The only difference between these two molecules is the position at which the -OH (alcohol) group is attached. These two molecules are structural isomers.
@drartijainchemistryclasses27142 жыл бұрын
Isopropanol has a lower boiling point (82.5 degrees C) than 1-propanol (97 degrees C), so isopropanol should evaporate more quickly. This is an important feature when cleaning. Flammability: Both compounds have similar flammability
