Very cool to watch. I tried Back Flying yesterday and this was helpful to watch as in my video review there are is my coach, spotter and holding onto my handles a lot, so it was hard to discern what I was doing wrong. Watching your progress in this was helpful. Nice job!

Eric Johnson thanks man, appreciate the feedback. Biggest thing that helped me in the tunnel was an instructor telling me to “feel the wind and fly the wind. Don’t over think it” I have quite a few videos on here detailing progression. Mostly skydiving right now but probably hit tunnel harder this winter and try to get proficient head down. Also watch all the IBA videos. They help.

Hi Todd, thanks for writing back. I've definitely watched the IBA videos. They make it all seem so...seemless =) I'm probably hard on myself as I've only tried back flying once (last week). I've booked another 30 minute block this coming week to practice more. I will try your instructor's advice to "feel the wind and fly the wind". I can kind of relate to the advice in the sense that I asked my coach if he could show me low wind speed, Belly Flight carving, as it's not really part of the progression. His approach was to have me meet him head to head in the tunnel and then gestured to do what he was doing. I didn't have to think about the fact we were actually flying forward, side-sliding and turning all at once and round and round the tunnel we went, head to head. Maybe that's what is meant by feel the wind, fly the wind?? I'll check out more of your videos! Thanks,

Yea man, just time in the wind. it will become muscle memory and you will just be flying it without even thinking about it. My wife just did 2 hours of back fly and learning to sitfly. I posted a video of her on here. Her back fly progression advanced leaps and bounds over the course of about 1.5 hours of tunnel. She looks like a whole different flyer.I'm hard on myself too, I get it. It just takes a lot of money for time in the wind. Enjoy the journey, trust the process. I'm more a fan of a static progression than a dynamic. I have done both. But I like the idea of learning static belly/back/sit/head down, then circling around and refining it with dynamic flying. Mostly because I'm a skydiver and its more important to me to be able to get to a formation and fly up and dock on it than to carve cool circles, etc. Just my opinion, ask 3 people and get 4 answers.
