I actually liked Duncan. He was still a bad boy and I loved his nice moments; he's always had them, even in his debut. Duncan's character was fine outside of his interactions with Courtney. If he was supposed to be nicer, why would he do Gwen like that? The writers were very inconsistent with this.

Yea , but gen 1 and gen 2 BARELY interacted . Other then heather and jo ( jo got eliminated very early ) scottney ( which was like one of the worst ships ) , and alejandro and mal they didnt really interact . In fact , alejandro and mal is barely an interaction it was more like the best villain trying to defeat the worst villain but the writers had to weaken everyone so uh yeah . @@nohintshere Actually, it can go from the latter to the former. Much like "the Spot" journey where his capability of malice just grows larger and larger. Plus, just change his motivation to a more deep one say like where Mike developed Mal out of trauma and defense from any social torment due to having DID. As Mal remerges, his goal is to use the prize money in any form to have any capability to exact any form of revenge who torment or has tormented him.

I have... _Incredibly_ mixed feelings for this season. On one hand, i can see why people dislike it. I mean, some of, if not _all_ of the characters are far more dumb compared to their older seasons. Come on, Heather hiding that immunity idol instead of just taking it was mornoic, and Alejandro was kind of weak too. But on the other hand, All Stars was (sadly?) the first season i ever watched of Total Drama. I got into the show pretty late, and the only season on Netflix was All Stars by the time i watched it. So for that reason, i have a soft spot for it. And i surprisingly guessed some things happening in it? The few characters i knew from Total Drama were Gwen, Izzy, Courtney, Heather and Owen, and i _really_ wanted Izzy to appear in All Stars. So when i saw the robot/Drama Machine, i kept saying "Izzy's in the robot, Izzy's in the robot!" and... I was half right. There _was_ someone in the Drama Machine. Then, in the fighting episode, i guessed Izzy being in the spider costume. My parents were concerned about my squealing. Finally, Heather tricking Alejandro into her being affected by the blue moon. As soon as she fake changed, i was already invested in the episode. (It's literally my favourite episode from the whole season, and i re-watch every now and then.) Oh, and Lightning saying "The Effiel Tower? I must be in Germany!" made me laugh _so_ hard. And Mal had so much wasted potential. Seriously.

I think if they lean more into Mal being more subtle and causing the villains to focus on fighting each other the season would be better. Example have Mal steal the idol from Heather and give it to Alejandro. Have the villains blame each other for stealing their stuff preferably Scott since he did that in Revenge. Have Gwen and Duncan break up due to Duncan believing Mike is Mal drawing a parallel to her relationship with Trent. Have Mal create the list Courtney has and frame it as hers. etc.

Total Drama All Stars is an atrocious season of television and I wish it had never been made. That being said, I love Total Drama All Stars. I am obsessed with it. I loathe it with every fiber of my being, yet have watched it countless times and plan to watch it countless times more. Mal, an objectively awful character who is easily the season’s biggest problem, is one of my favorite characters in the entire show, and maybe of all time. I barely even know why I feel this way. Why. Why have I devoted so much of my life to being obsessed with Total Drama All Stars? What is it about this awful season that makes me so enamored by it? I don’t know man. Total Drama All Stars will be constantly playing in the background of both Heaven and Hell. It is everything great and awful about the medium of television, and maybe humanity as a whole. A true enigma of a show.
